Ahh thanks for the replies everyone..Good points..I am 6' 1" so I will wear a hat as I can not afford to lose any more hair than I already have -
My wife has been wanting to go on a hot air ballon ride ever since we met. So for our 3rd wedding anniversary I finally pulled the trigger. As the date is quickly approacing I am getting anxiety about the ride. I am not affraid of heights perse but the lack of control due to weather and wind etc and being attached to a freakin ballon as a means of travel is starting to freak me out... Anyone ever been...how was it?

I do enjoy that from time to time!

Yeah I hear ya..I may clean house, I may upgrade..not sure what I will do yet! I put my ipod on random and I do tend to skip 10% of the stuff that comes up...The only reason I am hesitant is I listen to music 8-10 hours a day...I leave it on at my desk (as I need to drown out the lite-fm station!!! UGGGH!!!) and when I commute. I actually do go through most of the music on my ipod at one point or another...

Nice stories...one other album that had a similar effect on me was Sigur Ros-Ageatis...I get goosebumps during the final 4 tracks!

Where my ipod is filled to capacity (80gb)..I got the message last night. I started to panic! I had to delete some tracks to make the latest aquisition fit. What do I do from this point? Do I buy a larger one? If I buy it will i be able to transfer all my old songs...I don't think I have all my files saved on my backup drive! Yikes?! Anyone else in the same boat!

I have a Stanton T65 and it is a decent turntable. Would run about $150 if I remember correctly...you can buy it at Guitar Center if you have them near you...

Glad to see the band going out in style on top of their game There is a video of the whole show here.... http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2011/04/lcd_soundsystem_43.html SETLIST Set 1: "Dance Yrself Clean" "Drunk Girls" "I Can Change "Time to Get Away" "Get Innocuous!" Irish authors, novels, movies, music, art, etc.

Yeah it is unfortunate...I really enjoy Nu-clear Sounds, Free All Angels, 1977...Saw them a few times in NYC in dive bars...They just kept staying under the radar...really a shame...I did see them open for Colplay too back in 2002? -

ASH are a great underated Irish Band... -
I remember the first time I listened to the Bends in full. I believe it was maybe the second time ever a cd hit me like a ton of bricks. Everything made sense musically and every note was perfect. I get chills most of the time when I listen to the cd now 16 years later and remember starting to discover and appreciate music! I always said the Bends is the one cd you also need to hear with a good pair of headphones. I discovered subtle guitar and bass parts I couldn't hear on the cd...

Rock on!! Maybe they will make a dvd out of the final night..heres hoping to it!

Yeah I hear ya...if the one I go to was slightly closer to my house I would buy something every week there! Record store day is also great because it also gets other people to the stores who may not normally shop there.
-
Nice..I landed section 73 on the recent ticket release! It will be quite the night!
-
Heck I would go just to support the dying few record stores on this day. I am a sucker for this limted edition vinyl...want to get the Gorillaz, REM and few others! Can't wait!

$100 is insane for an acoustic show though I did pay that once. I saw Springsteen at the Tower Theater (3,000 ish capacity) in Philadelphia back maybe 5 years ago. I had about 20th row! That was an incredible incredible acoustic show but 99.9% of the time I agree with that statement!

Last night I saw LCD Soundsystem...one of my more recent favorites play their "final" shows. Night 1 had many surprises (45:33!!!!!) and was a three hour marathon! Catch them while you still can.
