  1. here is a thread with some video.. http://www.murmurs.com/topic/117131-stipe-performing-everyday-is-yours-to-win-at-carnegie-hal/ It was done at the Piano...one member of Patti Smiths band played the piano (forgetting his name) it sounded really pure..I liked it!
  2. That is a fun story...I have heard all types of stories about Stipe guess you just got to catch him at the right time.....
  3. Yeah it was a great short set this year too... First performance of both Saturn Returns and Everyday is Yours to Win... That is funny with the Trey stuff...as much as I enjoy Phish from time to time their fans are 99% very annoying and do take away from the live expierence.
  4. I alread had Reveal Signed by Mills and Buck so Reveal was it...not necessarily my favorite album but the cover is good for signing!

  6. YIKES! Editted...I did get a laugh after I read what I wrote. Late night yesterday and early morning makes me a carless typer! PS I Wrote I met Michael in Wayne...oye!
  7. Pardon me and my geeky fandom! As you know I am as big an REM fan as there is..went to the Tibet House benefit at Carnegie Hall where I saw Wayne Coyne on the street before the show with whom was very gracious and I talked a little about the Flaming Lips with etc..then after the show I finally completed getting an REM album signed..I hear Michael is tough and rarley signs so as he slithered onto the street stealthly wearing a winter hat and barley noticeable I asked and he stopped and we talked for a few seconds...it may not seem significant but here I was talking to my musical idol for the la
  8. I am attending the Tibet House benefit at Carengie Hall with Mr. Stipe performing tonight..I hope he plays something off the new album as I am digging it too!
  9. Whooops forgot Sigur Ros...at least what songs are in Hoplandic...the ones in Icelandic I am not sure if they are bad lyrics because I don't know what they translate to....lyrics may not be their strong suit but the music and phrasing make up for it!
  10. Ahhh you should go...find a babysitter!!!! Good luck!

  13. They were just poking fun of Australian on some of the tours I went on...just basic ribbing but at times there seemed more to it. Honestly I didn't understand half the stuff they were saying anyways.
  14. Hey Froggie...give me a lesson..what is up with the rivialry between in Australia and NZ? Is it all based on Rugby or is there another reason? NZ were talking lot of sh*t about Australia on my trip....just curious I am sure there is more to it but I am not big on Southern Hemisphere history, etc
  15. Yikes...terrifying news from down under! Hope everyone is ok down there. The news hit me hard as I was in Christchurch just this past Saturday!!!! I recognized many of the places on the news today.
  16. Sweet...you were at my first REM show June 23, 1995 MSG!
  17. I have seen the stripes maybe 6 or 7 times since 2003. The last show I saw in CT on the last tour kind of was lukewarm for me. Something was certianly amiss. The last album I maybe listened to 3 or 4 times through and haven't really gone back. I do still have many fond memories of seeing them at Coney Island, Union Square and in Montreal..
  18. I love the Stripes but kind of gave up on them recently. I find it weird they haven't done anything in what 3 years then now they announce they broke up? Why now?
  19. http://www.aolnews.com/2011/01/27/space-shuttle-challenger-disaster-25th-anniversary-where-were-y/?icid=maing%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk3%7C39700 Remember watching it in 1st grade classroom. I can't imagine how the teacher tried to explain it to us but I remember how horrifying it was.
  20. Oye! On the last week of CBGB's existence something pretty cool happened to me. I walked by the door with a friend from out of town. Spoke to the guy at the door. I said I know this place won't exist in the next few days and I got a friend from out of town would you mind if we checked it out. He said no problem. So here I was me and my friend and we had CBGB's all to ourselves including the backstage and it was cool to soak it in be for demolition!
  21. Yeah was a great show. I even snagged Mr. Olsons setlist after the show! The band sounded great! Crowd seemed to dig it. Some interesting songs after the Hollywood album were played. Only 2 complaints which are minor. Karens instruments need to be turned WAAAAY up! Also, was really, really hoping to hear some Bunkhouse as they played some in Toronto! Here is hoping for tonight!
  22. I would have never guessed...Was one of my favorite shows of the year in 2009 when I saw them in NYC
