  1. Got $44? http://product.half.ebay.com/Billy-Bragg-Wilco-Man-in-the-Sand_W0QQprZ3345174QQtgZinfo
  2. I had a friend I was dropping off at Newark Penn on the way home. I drove to the Belt to the Verazzano ($11 toll though!!!) to the Gothels then Turnpike to 13 A to Rt 21 N. Took 25 minutes. To Jersey City you can take Rt 440 which will take you over the Bayonne Bridge and it will take you less than a half hour total with no traffic.
  3. Hey all.. I will be in Nantucket this weekend. Any sights I should check out or maybe dining recommendations? Let me know!
  4. I always wondered how these guest spots arise and if the bands practice them together before the show. It doesn't seem so...well at least that might help with a cool spontaneous moment!
  5. I went knowing the fact that my chance of hearing an older catelog song I havent heard live were slim...I did hear Hoodoo though so that was great! Other then that I pretty much went to hear the new stuff live which was great!
  6. It can always be assumed Wilco will play IATTBYH Heavy Metal I'm The Man Jesus Hummingbird Handshake Late Greats Spiders Shot in the Arm California Stars and More recently Face Impossible Hate it Here I have heard these at every single show I have seen of theres since these songs came out...they need a good core setlist shake up... Here is what an ideal setlist last night would have looked like to me! Wilco (the song) Box Full Too Far Apart At Least That's What You Said Bull Black Nova Either Way One Wing Wishful Thinking Deeper Down Say You Miss Me Pot Kettle Sonny Feeling Summerteeth E
  7. I would go for Dim Sum in Chinatown..that is always fun. Also if you are more adventurous I would go to a Mets or Yankees game all accessable by train. Also Paul Mccartney will be playing at Citi Field and tickets are going cheap on ebay. Also go to the Bronx Zoo if you get a chance. In Manhattan I also would recommend a jog around Central park (There zoo is fun too), A trip to Zabars (best food store in NYC 72nd and Broadway?), and if you are in the touristy mood a walk around Rockerfeller Center, Times Square and Battery Park. Have fun!
  8. Jersey City to Coney Island Via Staten Island is not so bad. I made it from Coney Island to NJ in 25 minutes! Anyhoo finally after 12 shows I hear my first Hoodoo! That song always escaped me! Great show. New stuff sounds great live! My feebile attempt to get Should Have Been Ashamed played didn't work though through the webpage I guess you ended up finding tickets outside...I was able to score two more fields at $30 a piece earlier in the day...
  9. Yeah I just read that elsewhere too!
  10. Go to Ruby's on the boardwalk! Close to venue fun vibe! Not sure on set times. I have been hearing anything from Wilco at 8 to Wilco at 9! Get there early that is the safest thing to do!
  11. I will be out there to getting extras for friends. The fact that about 100 post have hit craigslist today selling I would say odds are pretty good. The odds that are bad though is coming from CT during Rush Hour! Leave as early as possible! When I saw the Stripes and Bjork there I saw tons of people selling outslide but then that was years ago too!
  12. Holds 12,000 for concerts! I will be outside there from 5pm on looking for tickets for all my ticketless friends who are arriving later... They will then owe me some delicious Nathans Hotdogs before showtime!
  13. I have two friends of mine who are looking for tickets for tonight. They are only willing to spend $25 a ticket but I told them I would keep an eye out for them. Seats can be in the Bowl....I will be at the venue around 430-5 if you got extras...or send me a post here....
  14. I think you missed alot. REM's later albums although not as good ad the IRS stuff is still miles beyond other bands IMHO! They really started to expierement from 1994-2008. Each album was something different with them. Give New Adventures a listen and UP (Quie the transition form one album to another).
  15. Ugggh great deal! Wish I could get them from you but I am in NJ!
  16. If it is any conselation there is no thing as a quick drive to or from NYC. Coney Island though only 10 miles or so away would take 45 minutes by subway or an hour and half by car in rush hour....
  17. June of what year? If so I go with.... 1985 Fables of the Reconstruction Released: June 10, 1985 We were thinking the same thing PS. Ghost and Mermaid 1 were also released in June...also still going with Fables...
  18. Everyone is entitled to their opinons but here is how I would rank all the proper albums by both bands... keep in mind my 3 favorite bands are REM, Radiohead then Wilco 1) Automatic 2) Murmur 3) Reckoning 4) Fables 5) Being There 6) Summerteeth 7) Life's Rich Pagent 8) Yankee 9) Green 10) New Adventures 11) Monster 12) Document 13) Accelerate 14) A.M. 15) Out of Time 16) Wilco (The Album) 17) UP 18) Ghost 19) Reveal 20) Around
  19. I don't think it was approporiate to applaud when the coffin came into the arena (seemed like a strange response) and the random hoots and hollars were strange...but then again this is a unique event.
  20. I hope Ultra Violet, MLK and Unforgettable Fire stay till September!!
  21. Yeah Mass drivers are bad too...maybe number 6...Connecticut and Florida should be on the list too!
  22. I would say top 5 worse from driving in each state several times are: 1. Maryland (They slow down to about 1 mph to make any turn, even coming off a highway!) 2. Pennsylvania (Clueless drivers...rapid or extremley slow lane changes) 3. New York (Never any signals and very erratic) 4. California (Too fast!!!) 5. New Jersey (Insane with a me first attitude....good thing about NJ if they are going to cut you off they do it quickly and get out of the way!) Sure it is a generalization but this is from my expierence!
