  1. I guess we are not talking about Tennesse, Mr. Wendel or Everyday People which were great jams of the summer of 92? I hear good things about the show though..I still haven't watched one episode yet. Add it to my everlong to do list!
  2. Cool.. I was at the last show of this run. Great show! Looking forward to seeing/hearing it again.
  3. I want to see them do Duran Durans Rio that would be funny! Though Kid A would be great along with YHF! Cool list!
  4. Do you like Lucky Town, Human Touch and Tunnel of Love Better? I have a hard time with those albums...
  5. I know what I like is one of my favorite Gabriel era Genesis songs..But I only have Lamb and the 3 disc Genesis set so I don't have to much from that era..still I know What I like
  6. Yes..in addition to each album the show will feature probably another 20 other songs each night!

  8. Def get there early. I semi enjoy roseland when I am less than 10 rows of people away. If you are in the back half of the venue it is no good! Also things at roseland start notorously late and behind schedule. I compare roseland to a skating ring...really dumpy and old... but on the other hand with a good person behind the soundboard and a good spot it is a good time and worth it!
  9. I will add Firewater to the list. They have a big following in Europe or so I hear but out of the NYC area they are widely unknown!
  10. I was at that show! I was in the 400 sec I believe it was on $35 so I probably had more of a nosebleed than you did That show had an amazing setlist! Worth the drive from NJ
  11. I gotcha beat...at least percentage wise. My $5 for Pet Shop Boys came out to $14.10 after fees... that is 182% in fees! The only recourse we have is to try and buy from the venues box office, don't go to the show or hope to score a deal on ebay. I loathe ticketmaster but it is a necessary evil if you are a concert goer who likes any form of popular music...I understand your frustration completley.
  12. They were a lot of fun. Had catchy jammy songs. I remember they were on Horde but strangely enough not for the NY/NJ dates?
  13. Pavement added a third show at central park...already! http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/00004330AC7459D6?artistid=750321&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=60
  14. I loved Jump and saw them a handful of times in NYC. I got to hang out with the band a few times too. They were very unique and had a great live show I miss them! As far as local bands I have seen a lot that didn't really make it.. From Good Homes God Street Wine Ours
  15. I thought the new guitarist was ok. He made interesting guitar Faces! I didn't see ya last night Matt. Where were you standing? I was up front maybe 3 rows back in front of Mark Spencer. I thought the sound was crisp but very loud last night. My ears are still ringing!
  16. New York show was great too. Band sounded solid. Might have been my second favorite Son Volt show I have seen. Ten Second News was worth the price of admission! Jukebox of Steel was awesome too!
  17. Heh heh...If I was bringing my wife we might have a dissagreement but since I am bring the brother in law then I guess it is not an issue and will keep an eye out!
  18. That is my guess too! Will be strolling in around 845 tonight! I really hope I get to hear Jukebox of Steel! Heard they just started play this!

  20. It is not good news only on paper. It shows the general health of the markets and economy. Yes the unemployement rates are terrible and lots of people are in bad shape but the rise in the dow shows more money is being injected into the system which will eventually trickle down into more hiring and spending by said companies which will help lift the economy. Sure we are a long way off but the trend is good. Interest rates have also creeped up. Believe me I am very very far away from being even in the wealthiest 50% of Americans but this recovery in the dow has helped my holdings significantly a
  21. Let me give you the best example of why I like Obama and most of his policies... Tax cuts, credits I got from Bush: $600 Tax credits, cuts I got from Obama $9500 Yes I did buy a house Dec 2008 and a new furnace and windows but the first time home buyers credit and, furnace and energy efficient credits were enacted by Obama. I also like how he is closing off the national parks to further logging, raising fuel efficiency standards and capping of emmissions. In addition he signed the obvious bill of equal pay for equal work. I have several other reasons why I am happier under Obama than Bus
  22. Man RIP! My grandfather died of the same cause so I know it is not pleasant. I did have the honor of meeting Patrick back about 10 years ago and he was very friendly and an all around nice guy!
  23. I didn't do anything in particular on Sept 11 but I did watch on the History Channel the story of the World Trade Center Marriott which was very moving. I didn't realize this 25 story building also collapsed that day and how 14 people survived by being in the right place at the right time. It was very touching and was another angle of The World Trade Center sight from that day that I was unaware of. It is also irnic how the 1993 WTC bombings and the aftermath saved the lives of this group of 14 people at the Marriott. Did anyone catch this?
