OMG THEY DIDN"T DO SPIDERS OR HEAVY METAL! Is that a misprint?

Gorillaz are great, Blur are great and GTBTQ are too! I had the pleasure of seeing the Gorillaz on their first tour and also at the Deamon Days shows at the Apollo in NYC which was incredible! All the guest from the Deamon Days album were there except Dennis Hopper and the rapper from November Has Come at the show I saw...still that is like 70 special guest! Anyhoo I have the D-sides and Rokit gets played oftent! That song gives me a laugh! I also saw GTBTQ and Blur in their last sweep through NYC. Damon Albarn is a very underated songwritter and is one of my all time favorites just after S

Speakers for record player recommendation?
remphish1 replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
Ahh thanks for the heads up. I must admit I am new to the game. I always used my dads record player and never paid much attention to all the stuff involved to get a good sound from the record player..will look into the links! Thank you! -
REM also released some of its best and worse all in 1991. Shiny Happy People, Country Feedback and Half a World Away all of the same album?! How is it possible!

Speakers for record player recommendation?
remphish1 replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
Ah should have put that in the first post! I got a Stanton T62 which has a stereo output http://www.djstore.com/item/decks/stat62.htm -
I got a record player as a gift recently and now I need speakers for them Any recommendations for a reasonable set of amplified speakers for record players. I went looking the other night and had a little sticker shock! Would pay $200 or so for a pair of good speakers but would be happy spending less

This will probably give Duran Duran that bump in popularity they need!
-
That has to be humbling for Oprah and Obama...maybe it is a good thing?
-
I hear you about the crime..keep in mind though they had the Olympics in Barcelona which is also a very crime ridden city and I guess it worked out just fine. This might help Rio get serious about security and help Brazil's greater good???
-
I was routing for Chicago until I read the olympics have never been in South America! I think every continent should have a go at it eventually (Minus Antartica I Guess)..my vote is for Rio!
-
I guess we are not talking about Tennesse, Mr. Wendel or Everyday People which were great jams of the summer of 92? I hear good things about the show though..I still haven't watched one episode yet. Add it to my everlong to do list!

Cool.. I was at the last show of this run. Great show! Looking forward to seeing/hearing it again. -
I want to see them do Duran Durans Rio that would be funny! Though Kid A would be great along with YHF! Cool list!
-
Do you like Lucky Town, Human Touch and Tunnel of Love Better? I have a hard time with those albums...
-
Cool! Can't wait to see the shots!

Def get there early. I semi enjoy roseland when I am less than 10 rows of people away. If you are in the back half of the venue it is no good! Also things at roseland start notorously late and behind schedule. I compare roseland to a skating ring...really dumpy and old... but on the other hand with a good person behind the soundboard and a good spot it is a good time and worth it!
-
I will add Firewater to the list. They have a big following in Europe or so I hear but out of the NYC area they are widely unknown!
-
I was at that show! I was in the 400 sec I believe it was on $35 so I probably had more of a nosebleed than you did That show had an amazing setlist! Worth the drive from NJ

Happy 60th to one of NJ's finest!

I gotcha beat...at least percentage wise. My $5 for Pet Shop Boys came out to $14.10 after fees... that is 182% in fees! The only recourse we have is to try and buy from the venues box office, don't go to the show or hope to score a deal on ebay. I loathe ticketmaster but it is a necessary evil if you are a concert goer who likes any form of popular music...I understand your frustration completley.

They were a lot of fun. Had catchy jammy songs. I remember they were on Horde but strangely enough not for the NY/NJ dates?
