I may be out of place for even commenting, but it seems the thread started off as a place to discuss real issues and feelings before it went off on another tangent.

I think this thread should be about the tragedy and it's deep emotional and psychological impact on society, not Courtney Love or Tori Amos.

Small Show: either the Black Crowes at the Delwin Ballroom in St. Joseph, MN just after Shake Your Moneymaker came out or the Jayhawks at the Red Carpet in St. Cloud, MN right after Mark Olsen left the group. At both shows the bands really seamed like they were out to prove something. Large Show: Probably Ozzy Osbourne with a then relatively unknown Metallica as the opening act in Minneapolis, MN in like 1986.

I blame the East India Trading Company for this whole Opium problem. That and the Asians.

Dear Flick, I know you are quite generous with you time and volunteering. Maybe you should focus on the positive feelings you get from that through out the year rather than the negativity you seem to be focusing on presently. Also, I didn't mean to imply that one should only think of others during the holidays, sorry for the confusion.

Maybe it's me and I'm doing it wrong but I've always felt that holidays in general are about others, be it spending time with others, doing things for others, etc. It seems IMO that a common thread with people who have a problem with holidays is that they focus on how the holiday relates to themselves, how it makes them feel personally. I'm sorry but that is missing the point IMO. Holidays, like life in general is/are what you make of them.
