  1. Playing without a capo puts hair on your chest.
  2. I've tried playing it with drop D, and it doesn't sound right to me. On the IATTBYH DVD, Jeff plays it with a capo on 2, though.
  3. For this song, I play it like this: e|-2 b|-3 g|-0 d|-0 a|-2 e|-0 Notice that fretting the A on the second fret adds a B note to the D chord, thus a D/B.
  4. How do I get invited to the group? My yahoo ID is cold_heater@yahoo.com
  5. I'm interested in doing some home recording on the computer (PC, not Mac). I have software, and I have mics, amps, etc. But what should I use to interface the 1/4" out on stuff like Mics to the computer proper?
  6. They're usually hit and miss. Usually pretty close, though. The tab for Gun seems pretty dead on, though. It looked like Tweedy was playing just that when I saw him live. I'm glad Wilco isn't annoyingly huge like some bands. However, have you looked at the tabs for a band like Weezer? The fans tab out every goddamn note. To alarmingly accurate detail. It's tough to find decent tabs for just about any of the bands I like, and I have terrible ear for figuring stuff out (although I can usually tell if something is accurate). Someone needs to put up a website with some of the more accurate ta
  7. One of my favorite UT tunes. The bass sounds pretty simple, could someone please post it?
  8. Little fix e-------------------------------- b------2-----2----2-----2-------- g-------2-----2-----2----2------- d-------------------------------- a---0-----------0-----------0---- Repeat x4 E---------0----------0h2---------
  9. I don't know if anyone cares, but I think the fingerpicking pattern is something like (based off the 3 5 05 Vic Show): e|---------0---- b|-----------3-- g|-------------- d|----0--------- a|------0------- e|--h3----------
  10. I agree, the Gumbopages one sounds dead on, at least as far as Tweedy solo goes. I don't know how it compares to the album version (which I think has second guitar?).
  11. Pretty good, except this: e---2----2----------0-------------------0- b---3--3------------2-------------------0-- g---2-----2--2h4---2-------------------1-- d---0-------------0-2-----2h4--2------2-- a--------------------0-------------0----2 E----------------------------------------0--- For some reason looks messy no matter what you do, lol.
  12. Hmmm, the formatting is a bit messed up. Is there any way you could repost it using either the code tag or by setting the font to courier new?
  13. I don't understand why you took that G#m out. It belongs there. The only thing I'd have to add is this: [C#m]Its just a dream he keeps [F#m]having [Fm][E]
  14. The ones off the studio version. The guitar comes in right after jeff says "you can't hear it anywhere you go" and pretty much plays throughout the entire song. Hmmm, it looks like you already tabbed out the "breakdown" part (which is one of the main things I hear the second guitar do).
  15. Anyone know the little fiddly lead riffs that get played on this song, and or the bass tabs?
  16. For the verses ("There's an airline plane/flys to heaven everyday", etc), it sounds pretty close to switch between D and one of these (let's call it D/B) e|-2 b|-3 g|-0 d|-0 a|-2 E|-x (not sure about the muting here) Then, for the chorus, this sounds close to me: (D)Them's got ears let them (D/B)hear (D)Thems got eyes let them(A) see (D) Turn your eyes to the (D/B)Lord of the skies (back to the verse chords) Take that airline plane. It will take you home again. (A)To your (D)home beyond the skies Sorry, I don't have a guitar in front of me, but that should be about right.
  17. Oh wait, that's an SG57 that I have. D'oh, oh well.
  18. Does anyone have tabs for playing these chords in slack G?
  19. Thanks guys, sounds great. I've been messing aroudn with this a bit, and I think that (for the intro) it sounds a little nicer to play 4 on the b in addition to 5 on the g. Why? I'm not sure, take it or leave it .
  20. Hmmm, I just happen to have an SM57...
  21. Thanks! I can't wait to try it out. After this little intro, I hear two acoustic guitars. One seems to be strumming the chords, while the other guitar sounds like it's playing something cooler. Has anyone figured this out? After he says "I'm the man who loves you" the first time, there's also a neat little riff. Doesn't sound too tough, does anyone know that?
