  1. "What Light" might be Tweedy's best song to date. It's simple, but the best songs are usually pretty simple.
  2. All HDTVs have their advantages/disadvantages. I've spent way too much time looking into this stuff, and I understand it far too well. If you'd like, I could explain it to you in excruciating detail. To keep it brief: I would reccomend getting an LCD HDTV. I would avoid any sort of "projection" TV.
  3. Beatle Bob and I have the same taste in music. Almost every band I went to see, he was dancing behind them. Can he be in more than one place at once?

  5. "The Sebadoh" is the only Sebadoh album I own. And it's one of my favorite albums ever.
  6. I love love love love love thew new Autumn Defense tunes. At least, the ones I've seen live.
  7. Wow, these guys fucking rocked live. If you don't know who these guys are, you should find out right now. They even got my stoic ass jumping. The crowd was fairly small, but they were amped. After a few beers of course. Here's a few pics my brother took:
  8. Pretty decent tab: http://www.gumbopages.com/music/wilco/songs/promising.txt

    Lets Fight.mp3

Is that the thanks I get walken. What light? Let's fight! Does anyone else see a pattern here?
  10. 23, M, Chicago, IL I work out of Oak Brook as a Software Consultant I discovered Wilco while watching PBS late one night. I was looking to expand my musical palette. I was specifically looking for a band that had some twang. I heard Wilco play California Stars at about 2am, wrote their name down, and downloaded some MP3s the next day. I got a bootleg of Jeff doing Heavy Metal Drummer solo, and fell in love. I have bought all the records, and Wilco even inspired me to learn the guitar.
  11. Leroy was perfect in Wilco. He played everything excellently, and he wasn't trying to get attention.
  12. Did anyone think he wasn't? I mean, honestly.
  13. I've loved Hoodoo Voodoo every time I've heard it.
  14. You hit the nail on the head. I downloaded some demos he had up on his site (Fireworks, Junior, Whispers or Screams), and I thought they were fantastic. Then he Bennett-ed up the demos for the actual album. Oh well.

    Old 97's

Seriously though, "Won't Be Home," "The New Kid," "Bloomington," "This is the Moonlight," and "No Mother" are some of the best songs I've heard in a long long time.

    Old 97's

I love "Drag it Up," but that's probably because I haven't heard any of the other albums.
  17. If anyone's curious, I posted up the rest of the set.
  18. I'm definitely going.
  19. I really like the Detholz! and NYCO. The Detholz! are Devo/Talking Heads-ish, and they can put on a hell of a show. They play the Empty Bottle a lot, which is a great sounding venue. NYCO is more standard rock and roll, with very catchy melodies. Both bands sound incredible, and it's a miracle they're not more popular.
  20. You're crazy, and no one wants to break it to you.
  21. Forgive me if I sound a little ignorant here (that's because I am). I'm curious about non 4/4 time signatures. What Wilco/Uncle Tupelo songs are not in standard 4/4?
  22. I saw Peaches open for Nine Inch Nails recently, so I wasn't as blown away as I could have been. But she was definitely good. Sorry, I didn't even have my cell phone camera on me. But I definitely wish I did.
  23. Did anyone else catch this? Wow, what a spectacle. The people in the audience were almost as interesting as the ones on stage. All the freaks were out to play, it was incredible. Peaches' drummer is amazing. I was mesmerized by her the entire show. And that's saying a lot, considering the freak show all around us.
  24. I know I'm excited. The new Son Volt songs I've heard are incredible.
  25. Closest one yet, the only that I can add to it is bolded. Although, that's purely from memory.
