How do i get rid of squeaks when moving my fingers along a string?
Groo replied to OOO's topic in Solid State Technology
I LOVE that string "squeek." I'd like to be able to do it more. -
I just got it yesterday...it's awesome. I got it all cleaned up and restrung. It smells like the 60s. It sounds surprisingly good, and it's fun to play. The only real complaint I have is that the tuners are a bitch and half to turn. But the guitar stays in tune! I'm going to lube them up, as per the suggestions I received here. At some point, I think it would be nice to have the guitar looked at by a professional, and have the tuners replaced. But it plays just fine, from what I can tell. All in all, a great purchase.

Thanks for the advice! This is exactly what I was hoping for. I can't wait for it to come in, so I can check it out myself. I already own a J45, so all my serious playing needs are taken care of. I was just looking for something I can strum on at the girlfriend's place, or take with me when I go out of town.

Thanks! I'm definitely looking forward to getting it in. "Couch guitar" is exactly what I'm going for here. It will be cool to own a guitar older than I am, if nothing else. Hopefully, it's in "excellent" condition like the listing says. I don't really want to pay a lot of money to restore it.

Oh a whim, I just bought this on eBay: There was 15 minutes left in the auction, and it looked pretty. I was looking for a cheap, 3/4 size guitar. And Tweedy owns a guitar that's kind of like this one, so I thought what the fuck. I haven't recieved it yet (because I just won the auction), but it's been all I've been thinking about. Title: Guitar-Stella Harmony Description: Steel string- flat back- guitar. In excellent condition. Has leather case also in excellent condition. Comes with two shoulder straps. Case measures 42x14x5inch. Any ideas? Tips?

I've heard he uses open-D. I also think he uses some form of open-G. I would really like to know how the hell to play "Medication." I think it's in open-D, but I've been wrong many many times before.

I just got an idea: they'll probably just release one of the leaked tracks.

So many questions from one so young...

The verse is D G Bm G (going off the live version). The D/F# is correct, although they might be playing a strange inversion of it.

I ordered it from the Wilco store.

That's why you're a poor translator.

I just got the book today, and it's excellent. In a lot of cases, the chords are up for free on the internet, but in most cases, they're wrong, or at least off in places (just look at She's a Jar for instance). And to have the entire song transcribed like this, with correct lyrics? Good deal for $25. Makes me want to learn piano.

Having the correct chords, with timings will still be quite useful, especially in such a tidy package.

Here's what I have figured out: The verse are G C and the choruses are C |G D| (half measure of G and D). When G is played, this played on the 1/4 notes: G------ D------ A--5--- E-----3- C: G------- D--5---- A------3 E------- D: G----- D--7-- A----5 E------ Does this look OK??

It sounds fairly easy, but I'm pretty retarded at this sort of thing. Can anyone help me out?

I'm pretty posititive it's "Ko-chee" and "San-sown" (an as in and and).

As long as it was Jeff, Mike, and Jay!

I love their new album. The new songs are fantastic. This album is a huge step ahead of Cirlces (which was a damn fine album). I hope the next album is just as big of a step for them. Great job, boys. John and Pat both sound great on the album. I heard these tracks debuted live when AD was touring last year. I prefer the live arrangements on most of the tracks, but they were able to capture the essence of the songs really well on this album. It's going to be nice to see them in Chicago this March. I've never been disappointed by an Autumn Defense show.
