http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ms-b...o&type=lgns Yahoo is reporting that Brady is likely done for the year. -
So who went to this? I went there with my mom and stepdad and had lawn seats. Unfortunately, it was in the enclosed theater so we didn't get to see anything. I really enjoyed the Sigur Ros piece. It was surprisingly cold out (even though I was wearing a jacket) and I felt like I was coming down with something, so I left during the intermission. What'd I miss?

Oh, that's where I read it in the first place -- your link. I was just reappropriating it for the present conversation. -

It's possible, but consider this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/moira-whelan...x_b_123892.html -
8th election thread

The thing is -- they reportedly were not letting people bring signs into the convention. So one assumes that those signs were handed out/officially sanctioned. Almost as if, you know, they wanted to draw jeers from Dems/liberals, which would be proof that Dems think they're better than everyone else. -

8th election thread

This is not the 8th election thread. I made that up. It's probably 5th or something like that. -
Not exactly true, as some delegates choose to represent a certain candidate beforehand and thus which ones attend depends somewhat on who wins the primaries. You probably noticed that there were Obama and Clinton delegates on your ballot.

I think he meant that he doesn't know who he's voting for.

Most people here are politically motivated. The question is whether the information is accurate or not.

So Karl Rove said something like Wasilla was "the second-largest city in Alaska, I think." Right? Did anyone believe that he thought that?

No idea, but that's just a link to Dave Van Dyck's Tribune column.

Seems like idle speculation: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/04/c...o_n_123830.html

I'm never sure what an illegal war means, but I think an argument could be made that the Senate should have to declare war for it to be considered legal.

We gotta get us some of that reform.

While that's clearly not the only reason she was selected, can you say that that reason couldn't be "further than the truth" with a straight face? Have you seen her speak at all since being selected? Like here at her first apperance with McCain? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5J98Rnft9s or here, that same weekend?
-
I generally think Bono is full of shit when talking about upcoming albums.
-
That is correct.

The Virginia polls average out to a tie, McCain has less than a tenth of a percentage point edge. That doesn't mean anything. Nevada averages out to 1% difference. Doesn't mean too much. That's why they have the toss-up states.

That electoral vote site just uses the very latest poll. RCP is better, imo, because they average polls: No toss-ups: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/ma..._mccain/?map=10 with toss-ups: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/ma...bama_vs_mccain/ It's extremely close.
