  1. The rape investigation was stopped because Kobe apologized? I thought it was stopped when the media kept leaking her name to the public.
  2. He didn't get much playing time in preseason. I'm not sure if he has much of a future with the Bulls.
  3. Rumored proposal on Chicago radio is Gordon, Tyrus, Noah and a pick. That would be a steal for the Bulls.
  4. If his secretary is paying 34% then they probably are making decent money. He's talking about capital gains, not income tax.
  5. That first one's difficult to say. The charges were dropped, but that's only because the retarded media and court reporter leaked the name of the girl mutliple times. He didn't really have his day in court.
  6. It's nonsensical. Unless the idea is he's just not good enough to play in the AL. This idea that he's not "a good fit" is really silly. What's the difference? He had a bad year with Boston. Ok. Let's see...career splits vs. AL teams (and keep in mind that many of these ABs were during his down year). Career OPS: 757 Vs. Bal .511 -under Vs. Bos .813 - over Vs. CWS .698 -under Vs. CLE .859 -over Vs. DET .715 -under Vs. KC 1.019 -over Vs. LAA .787 -over Vs. MIN .668 -under Vs. NYY .825 -over Vs. OAK .701 -under Vs. SEA .651 -under Vs. TB .811 -over Vs. TEX .678 -under Vs. TOR .867 -over So
  7. Well, we've had this conversation before. I think Tyrus will develop into a decent interior scorer. He's developed a little bit of a jump shot, a little bit of a baby hook, and I think he'll get fouled a lot and shoot 70%+ from the line this year. Oh, also, last year his +/- per 48 was the highest on the team.
  8. Hinrich-Bryant-Nocioni-Thomas-Wallace would be a good starting five. They'd lose some depth. I don't think their current arc will lead them to a championship--they just don't have a go-to scoring option. The rumor has been late November for this trade. If they give up all of the above plus Thomas, I don't like the deal. They'd have too many holes and it wouldn't be much different than the current Laker team.
  9. "You can do whatever you want in life." http://achewood.com/index.php?date=10242007
  10. I'm not sure why you're so bent out of shape about the Catholics. They opposed both Iraq wars, or at least the church leadership did. Wait, weren't you just praising war's effect on the economy? It's the exact same concept.
  11. I was hoping the White Sox would pick up Edgar. Ah, well.
  12. Hmm, magic 8 ball says NCAA championship isn't a good indicator for NFL quarterback success.
  13. This news story has inspired you to enroll your little ones at that Catholic school?
  14. http://mensfashion.about.com/od/groomingfa...ngrownhairs.htm Most sites seem to suggest shaving with the grain (meaning your shave won't be quite as close as shaving against) as well as washing/exfoliating beforehand. This one also suggests that you "use a single-blade razor." I can't vouch for that personally, as I'm not experienced yet. As for the second part--all I can say is that people do it. I don't know if there's much extra danger. They are called safety razors, after all. The thing is, there's a limited gap where the razor is exposed and it can only cut you at certain angles. It's
  15. Well, Canseco did some hinting about A-rod. Not that that's necessarily worth anything, but he's been right about some other guys that surprised some people.
  16. Well, A-rod is pretty ripped, but he doesn't have that swollen, dead-giveaway look. Neither one would surprise me.
  17. Um, because he had a seeing-eye single? Are you somehow under the impression that A-rod didn't have any hits this post-season? He had like an .850 OPS or something, which isn't great, but it's more than decent.
  18. Despite the negative press he got in NY, he somehow managed to have one of the best years of his career. I wouldn't put too much stock in this thin skinned business.
  19. That's painting with a broad brush. Crisp's career OPS is .735 or thereabouts. That's a little below average for a centerfielder. He's also one of the best defensive CFers in the league. Compare that with Owens' career .639 OPS/Anderson's .632 and that's a definite upgrade. Owens and Crisp are pretty close in age, too. Hunter's going to command more than he's worth. Something in the range of $15-20 million per.
  20. I was just thinking last night that Crisp might end up on the White Sox. I'm still waiting for Brian Anderson to learn to hit.
  21. I wouldn't be surprised to hear they played any Wilco song. I've heard them play Secret of The Sea and no one mentioned that.
  22. There has been some talk about giving him a piece of the team as part of his compensation.
  23. That really stopped them from paying ~200 million for Soriano and Zambrano.
