  1. Anyone else coming that I should know about, hmm?
  2. Old Perry looks like hes getting ready to head out to the golf links.
  3. Deer wheelco, Tickets go on sale to the general public through the Aronoff at noon today EDT (despite the fact that Wilcoworld lists the time as CDT). Link for ticket sale can be found on Wilcoworld. Your pal, M. (hris
  4. Plus his parents emigrated to the states from south Korea in their middle age. It's damn near impossible for a college educated person with above average verbal skills (me, for example) to wade through the mental health system. Had they even been aware of his troubled mind, helping him or finding help for him would have been very difficult.
  5. It's damn hard to fill up 24 hours with the same story if the stations stick to 'the facts'. There was NO WAY NBC was going to let those images languish. That's so funny I can hardly contain myself. That the media are blood sucking leeches is not news. I have watched about 30 minutes of CNN coverage of this story. That was more than enough information in my head about it.
  6. PS: I have never actually attended a sit down Wilco show.
  7. Congrats on the great tickets! I'm going to wait until tomorrow and buy tickets from the Aronoff, got in too late this morning. See you kids there!
  8. A good friend, my age, is a hunter. He graduated back in the olden days from KU, the state university in Kansas. We had a conversation not long ago about him keeping firearms (shotgun, rifle) in his dorm room, and how frowned upon (we thought perhaps by now illegal? Dunno. Politically incorrect for sure) that would be in the wake of shootings in public spaces. Weird.
  9. Thankee, Wendy! Nope, no Indy. This will coincide with the usual Ohio travel to see family in June Some of my progeny will actually be going to the show as well!
  10. I'm a dork for asking...but anybody know the Wilcoworld presale password?
  11. Thank you Judy. I too have been thinking a great deal about Cho's family. I always appreciate you weighing in on these issues. I know it is a subject that is your vocation and very close to your heart as well. I have struggled with the questions of 'what more could I have done' many, many times. The question is, what is the best course of action? Committing an adult, even a young adult to a mental institution is a huge decision for a family. We discussed it in my family quite alot. In the states anyway, the options for middle class families are pretty limited. I have experienced state ment
  12. Honestly, it surprises me that these things don't occur more often. I would wager that there are thousands of people walking around this country with the same suicidal/homicidal impulses. I saw interviews this morning with the chair of the English department who tutored this boy because the teacher and students in Creative Writing class were afraid to be in class with him, as well as his roommmates who called the cops because he was stalking one of their friends. This WAS NOT a case of a dude that just fell through the cracks of a poor mental health system. Past legal age there is very litt
  13. I'm so sorry to hear this. Love and prayers for all of you at Grinnell.
  14. It's like tiny diary lives in my house!
  15. So shamed was I by the Lammycat tidy fridge, I cleaned out the door of my refrigerator and tossed some stuff (trash night). It's all shiney now!
  16. The cactus should be grown in the best light you have. South or southwest exposure. The aloe as well. Good light, they will really languish otherwise. Let these plants dry out well between waterings. The orchid likes a different culture. In nature it lives on the bark of trees. It likes humidity and bright, indirect light. It should be in a bark or some other coarse material. I submerge the pot in water and let it sit there a minute. Let the bark absorb lots of moisture. I drain it, and put it back. Water it again when the bark feels dry a knuckle or two in. Orchids (phalaenopsis anyway) are
  17. It wasn't meant to be funny. The Boomtown Rats song "I Don't Like Mondays" was inspired by a deadly shooting at a school.
  18. The silicon chip inside her head Gets switched to overload. And nobody's gonna go to school today, She's going to make them stay at home. And daddy doesn't understand it, He always said she was as good as gold. And he can see no reason 'Cause there are no reasons What reason do you need to be shown? Tell me why? I don't like Mondays. Tell me why? I don't like Mondays. Tell me why? I don't like Mondays. I want to shoot The whole day down.
  19. I woke up this morning in wonderment of having lost 5 pounds, all because there aren't chocolate chip cookies in the house any more.
