  1. I have that LP. It would be nice to hear it again.
  2. He means that when you attain nibbana, you don't need an iPod.
  3. The customer service at Crutchfield is top notch. Yay for iPod enhanced roadtrips! To Yellowstone and beyond!
  4. I considered it. I installed new speakers last year. This involved taking apart my dashboard, and I didn't think I needed to have that experience. The piece that is problematic is that the player in your car must have an auxillary plug in, and those are usually found on the back of the player. My player was an aftermarket Alpine that I purchased for the Jeep, so I had the specs for it and knew it had a plug in. I suspect that unless you have the specs for your player, you won't know the answer to that until it's out of your dash. The only danger in all of this for me is driving and findin
  5. I have a 60GB (My boyfriend. He vibrates and everything), which is 3/4 filled. I tried the iTrip, which made me want to throw the rig out the window. Fortunately, my CD/radio is new enough to have an auxillary plug to which I had my mechanic affix a 1/8 RCA connection wire that runs from behind my dash, out to my iPod. I also have hooked up a power supply to my lighter. All of this I purchased from the fine folks at Crutchfield. A bit inelegant, I'll admit, but I carry my music library in a pack of Marlboro Lights in a box.
  6. Win's current haircut is most unfortunate.
  7. I invited mad scientist too. I hope she can make it! You too renic!
  8. Will there be delicious beers to be quaffed?
  9. Thanks mister Stewart! I think these books should be required reading.
  10. Oh, I would liked to have heard that interview...wonder if I can find it online. Pollan calls Whole Foods "Big Organic". I haven't gotten that far in the book. I'm still mucking about in a cattle feed lot in Kansas.
  11. I'm about a third of the way through, and feel like I'm reading an Outer Limits script. The state of food production in America is frightening. It's no freaking wonder we're growing fat.
  12. This shot gives me goosebumps: This is "roots music", where the tunes and lyrics are passed person to person like a joyous virus. How music was meant to be. What fun! ( mad scientist!)
  13. I like Highways And Cigarettes too. Nice harmonies.
  14. With Jeff's voice, that high end sounds soulful. With Jay's it sounds strained. Like someone is squeezing his n
  15. He's really singing at the high end of his range too.
  16. To my eyes, Helen Mirren at 62 looks far finer than a baker's dozen of the younger girls. My jaw dropped looking at this old broad last night:
  17. I would like to send out my personal congratulations to Sir Stewart for having been a part of the Best Picture.
  18. Salmon farmers have learned to modify the diet of this carnivorous fish, and are FEEDING THEM CORN!
  19. OK. Having begun reading this book today, I recommend it highly to anyone interested in food. It will open your eyes.
  20. Bovines are not evolved to eat corn anyway. Because of the various health issues related to feeding corn to an animal not physiologically equipped to eat it, antibiotics are used to decrease bloat, acidosis, and liver problems. Antibiotics. Hormones. We ingest too much of these as well.
  21. "The first five ingredients of "fat free half and half" (and I agree with you - in literature class this would be called an oxymoron) are nonfat milk, milk, corn syrup solids, artificial color, and sugar." Soon, everything will be made from corn syrup. It's frightening. And it's also making Americans obese.
