  1. Used to have one of these. Think it was a Vauxhall underneath, but was labeled a Pontiac Fienza. Terrible terrible car, that I remember fondly.
  2. Think it is strategy that speaks to getting rid of dealers more than anything else. GM has 6000 in the US, Toyota and Honda approx 1500. If you can grab the New Yorker with the white house and the dog on the cover. Excellent article on the current state of the US auto industry. It makes the point that GM will probably declare bankruptcy, but only after the union and workers are not left out in the cold.
  3. meet me outside the skating rink your mom is a bitch, i don't care what she thinks of me
  4. Great! The wrens one is this old thing from 1995, but the $100 is brand new. There's a digital coupon thing with the 7", which is good since my turntable is pretty touch and go. First song is about the 14th floor of Princess Margaret Hospital and the second about migrant workers in Leamington. It is worth the $7.00 for $100. I can't wait until they record the 'Black Gold' song about Fort McMurray. I swear they have written an anthem - an bizzarro reply to Four Strong Winds except instead of singing about 'Winds that blow lonely' they sing about VLTs and giant tar sands trucks. I gotta he
  5. Yeah, I'm also indifferent to Bird's music. But not this:

  8. Umm - no. Most stores have a trade up program with something like 70-80 percent of the purchase refunded when you go up . If I do go for a Martin, I'll do it that way, but i want something that I don't want to worry too much about, yet still plays nice. Besides, no way I'm spending that much while still being an absolutely terrible player.
  9. I love my BR 70. Almost went up a step to the BR 165 (?) which seemed to have soild rosewood sides as opposed to a rosewood laminate. I'm sure I won't be able to notice the difference Got talking to my Ian Russell from my fav band of the moment - $100 and low and behold Ian uses a Blueridge. I pointed him to the local shop which seems to have the best selection of anybody I've seen. Ian's BR-50 (?), that I got the pleasure to play with, can be seen here.
  10. Props for the John Henrys. That is a good record. hooked on this record.
  11. I was most impressed with the drummer - Think it was the Superdrag guy. Nicole Atkins was ok, but wasn't the opener in TO. We had Dent May, who was also ok. Did get one NP song though.
  12. me too. I know I should shut up about how good $100 is, BUT look at the paragraph towards the end of the timeline: 'One a rare occasion in February 2008, White plays a solo show at the Music Gallery in Toronto and is smitten with one of the opening acts, a local duo called One Hundred Dollars. Though he rarely solicits artists who aren't friends, White offers to record the band at his schoolhouse and, in 13 hours on April 27, they create One Hundred Dollars' stunning debut, Forest of Tears. "I'm not good when strangers ask me to do things," White admits. "I'm not really into mone
  13. hollee shit. Of the many many discs I've heard of the basement tapes, this is easily the best. Clouds so swift Rain won't lift Gate won't close Railings froze
  14. One Hundred Dollars - Careless Love Well I know the cracks in the ceiling Like the cabbies know the streets in this town Where the plaster is crumbled from the couple upstairs Pounding their feet on the ground Where the paint runs off to a territory Where it really just shouldn’t be It\'s a sloppy paint job But not as sloppy as the way that you do me I never come but it don\'t matter I could be any other girl My head planted on that pillow My eyes fixed up above Is this what they meant when they sang Careless Love? What’s insane of a woman who’s pummeled his heart Her sweat love it
