ditto. I get a Seals and Croft or Loggins and Mesina vibe. Boring ass 70s folk-pop.

Favorite single lyric of all-time. Yeah, that's right... only one!

When I joined the navy I left my mother I met a man, a man like no other Well he wore a stud And he wore a patch And he sailed the seven seas now And he wore a Stentson hat With a six-shooter And a Buccaneer He was a black bearded cowboy He told me in my ear A man of my caliber, exactly can

PT, The Deadly Snakes are up there with my favourite bands in the world. I'm not sure if you follow In The Red records, but these guys were a mainstay until their breakup in 2005. Greg Cartwright from Reigning Sound was a member and I think he might have produced this one. Their standout cd is 2005's Porcella. They've been quoted as saying it is a concept album about the a Pope's decree in like 1176 to allow the Catholic world to eat pork. I think that was a joke played on music journalists. Similarly, Andre Ethier's (one of the lead singers) new album is also a concept cd about Police Hors

Sure PT, Here's a song http://www.herohill.com/MP3/04%20If%20The%...%27t%20Rise.mp3 As far as I can tell, the song of about harvest time in the 'Sunparlour' section of the Lake Erie shore. This is the only second thing I'd heard by the band, but immediately ordered the cd. They are in that shouting harmony category of acoustic guitar bands, like the Avetts, with a very distinctive and gruff lead vocalist. I'm a bit late to the band and the song is from 2006.

Kalle was talking about these guys earlier too. I didn't really twig until the singer showed up on a Jenny Omnichord song. Went and ordered it today and learned that my indie store friend knows them fairly well. Seems they are from Leamington, about 20 minutes away from where the Elliot BROOD dudes are also from. Sunparlour comes from the name of the area - being the 'Sunparlour of Canada' or somesuch. Anyway, can't wait to hear more and see them inconcert.
