  1. no he still sucks. I would soo love to see BFB. NP - an excellent mixer of 2000-2001 Vancouver country bands: Mazinaw, Butless Chaps, Young and Sexy, Ford Pier, Tennessee Twin, Radiogram....
  2. New to me, but dropped from Mint records earlier this century. I love it, especially 'The apple of your black eye'
  3. and the last.fm musical compatability goes into the stratosphere. Sad note was that the guy who did the album artwork did not win the Oscar for his short film, 'I met the walrus'. ie 'eddie murphy not winning for showgirls' kind of sad. wish some small record company (weekwork, outside, paperbag, sixshooter) would pick it up:
  4. Best rumour of the day. Charles Bissell will be sitting in with/replacing Jonathon (Meiberg???) with OR on the tour. I will personally adorn my breasts with 'Play Ex girl collection' in lipstick to attempt to make sure the song is played. or wait, scratch that last comment. No one would notice such a small display. But, FUCKING EHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! source of rumour: http://www.jound.com/board/viewtopic.php?t...f22551761cc5a55
  5. Old age or Yoga or both? Basia Bulat - Touch the hem of his garment is a b-side from some promo single. ?there are still promo singles?
  6. I know, I know, blatant press release type of stuff, but when it's written well (Samson) and when it's about a good band (the constantines), what the hey...
  7. sure is, not that I have it all or anything. Also interesting in that he's showing up all over Southern Ontario - ie with an Ottawa Choir for 'Sno Angel' and then producing Kate Maki's latest cd. I always associated him with dryer, warmer climes.
  8. Ditto. And yeah Live would probably do it for me as well. I also had the same reaction to Sirens. ie, a solo live version of say something like 'Outfit' turns my crank over anything that resembles Layla or Freebird or a Lucero/Glossary song. But that's just me and my crank.
  9. This is my favourite band and cd from the period: I'm alone in my fandom of it though. Still the version of Permafrost on it is fan-tas-tic.
  10. Daughter is going nuts over the Juno soundtrack. I promised to pull this out. 'Baby you don't know what you're saying'
  11. in my book Hart will always top Mould. On the main, the main, remember your name, Remember the things you and I became Reeperbahn, Christiania, Pigalle, all the same On the main, the main, remember your name
  12. she and him - love it so far. I was so worried that this would be terrible.
  13. Great! I always wonder if I've gone over the 'fine line between stupid, and clever', ie - being nice and wishing them the best to perhaps being a bit creepy. In concert they're kind of awkward and frozen in place like good friends slightly awed by their situation and thankful to be doing what they're doing. I just want a friendly face to say hello every couple days.
  14. I do know that you have the power to be in 2 places at once, but since that was not enough, here is one of those street-teamer's youtube of the show: Sound's not the best, but hey, it's youtube from a cellphone or something
  15. got this nice note yesterday after an email friend, Kyle, stopped by to talk to Basia and Holly in Portland:
  16. Dirtbombs and Alan Moore - Leopard Man at C+A total black sabbath/high school lyrics, but I love the song. Welcome to the jungle When the zoo-age begins We'll hunt down television set And kill them for their skins We
  17. Hey - the Tournament of Hearts starts this weekend. I'm playing Weakerthans to commenerate!
