  1. Yep. I started the thread because I was considering unloading my tix if Neko and Dan weren't on the tour. After I found out they were there is no way that I am missing this. Probably something like 10 hours til showtime.
  2. Anyone know if Dan Bejar and Neko Case are going to be with the New Pornographers on the upcoming US tour?
  3. Leroy was playing with Sam at the 930 in DC on Saturday night.
  4. I guess I must just be lucky, but I have seen Ryan 11 times since Whiskeytown broke up (Once in 2001, three times in 2002, once in 2003, twice in 2005, twice in 2006, and twice in 2007) and every one of the shows has been amazing. He may not play for as long as in the past, but his singing and guitar playing are better than ever right now. Respect to those who don't want to take a chance on seeing Ryan live because they've had bad experiences, but I've never had any. It really sucks that some folks had a bad time at the show the other night, but the two shows I just saw in Charlottesville a
  5. There was definitely a lot of stuff from the 80's that did not make it onto the records that is just great. The austin city limits with the International Harvesters is amazing! Having said that it's kind of weird for these to be the old studio recordings where I assumed he re-recorded the older songs for what I thought to be a new album. This is even weirder when a record like "Homegrown" remains unreleased.
  6. Grohl looked to be having a blast playing "Holiday In Cambodia".
  7. I've been staring at a "qqeue" screen for about 40 minutes trying to get tickets to the show in Philly in October. Not looking good. When the hell did Comcast start selling tickets? Guess most of the bands I have been going to see either have their own ticketing or use music today/ducat king. In any event this stinks. What a waste of time.
  8. Anyone have an mp3 of Colin and Co's version?
  9. Devendra Banhart - Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon This is a transcode, but I could care less.
  10. Also in regards to Toad's Place they have The Hold Steady listed as playing there on 11/19!!!
  11. The first place I saw Wilco headline was the 930 club all the way back in 1997 and since then I have seen them play there 8 times. I have seen them play in a bunch of places all over the country, but the 930 almost seems like home base for seeing a Wilco show to me. Having said that I just don't like how the Norva compares to the 930 in general, particularly in the acoustics department. Actually I am being too kind. Maybe I'm an audiophile nerd or something, but I think the sound in the Norva is flat out horrible. On the other hand they do an amazing job booking that place and I sure ho
  12. Richmond roll call!!!Thanks for the info on Toad's Place and The National. I really don't like the Norva, but you cannot argue with the bands they have booked there in the past few years. The venue for a Richmond area Wilco show already exists - the Landmark Theatre down near VCU. There were enough people at either the William & Mary or C-Ville shows last year to have sold that place out pretty easy. I haven't been there in a few years, but that is a great place to see a show. Also, did anyone make it to the Jason Isbell show at Canal club last month?
  13. Jacksonville City Nights. If you look around enough you can find an import version with the studio version of "What Sin" as the last track.
  14. The live version of "Blue Hotel" Ryan is doing with the Cardinals on the current tour absolutely destroys. I love Easy Tiger, but anyone interested in Ryan needs to download the Manchester show right now and take a listen to this. What an amazing voice.
  15. Would anyone going to a show be kind enough to take some cash from me and pick one of these up for me? If so, send me a pm. I had ga pit tickets for Merriweather and had to sell them at the last minute because of work. This will probably show up on the wilco site at some point, but you never know....
  16. per a post on ryanadamsarchive.com Now Back In-Print
  17. It's similar to what he did with "Caterwaul" when it was finally recorded, minus all the noise and uh, Parker Posey. The version of that on bootlegs from the Heartbreaker tour are deadly.
  18. I have to say that I don't like the new version of "Off Broadway". Did Ryan sing this in a weird key to try to get them to release Suicide Handbook?
  19. $19.99 at best buy for both of the records and the dvd. Not too bad. On the other hand not sure why anyone would pay for the other deluxe edition. It's $39.99 for a fancier box that is a "numbered limited edition".
  20. The order on the torrent from Oink matches the order listed on itunes, but that doesn't match the order on Amazon or the Plan 9 music website that has the clips. In addtion there is a third version on answeringbell.com. Is there a possibility that there are promo copies floating around with different running orders? Regardless this is a great record. My only complaint is that it is going to be hard for me to get use to the new versions of "Hey There Miss Lovely" and "Off Broadway". Still trying to get used to the redone version of "For Beth" at the end of Cold Roses 2 years later...
  21. What is the the correct order for the tracks on this? I've seen at least 3 different versions.
  22. I will be shocked if this boxed set EVER comes out. Ryan has been talking about putting something like this out for 5 years.
