  1. Stopped by Plan 9 here in Richmond before work yesterday and was surprised to see Before The Frost on sale, which I immediately picked up. I can't seem to figure out how to download Until The Freeze though. The address they provide to go to and enter your code doesn't have a place to enter a code. If anyone figures this out once you purchase the album let me know. Maybe they aren't posting it on there until 8/31?
  2. Anyone else have a what.cd invite?
  3. Could someone please help me hear this? Must...hear....pm.....down Thanks, Paul dylan-vs-greedo@juno.com
  4. Ugh. What a great time for messaging to be down. I have been waiting to hear this for 3 years! Thanks spam!
  5. This is probably one of the things I love about this band.
  6. Basically this is it. I understand that people have different opinions about his work with the current version of the Cardinals, but he quite frankly has some personal things he needs to address. Anyone who has followed him closely, particularly in a live setting, has to have some knowledge that there are some issues. When he is on not many people can touch this guy for me though. As folks have said in this thread, he really seemed to have figured out some things in the last few years in regards to focusing on what he was doing. Ironically a lot of people prefer the "roll the dice" Ryan
  7. BUMP! No reason they couldn't play The National or The Landmark. At least play Charlottesville again.
  8. I think Magick is great! Don't see anything wrong with Ryan doing a trashy rock song every once in a while. As a long time follower of Ryan's music I think it's a nice break from all the sad bastard stuff. DISCLAIMER: I also like Rock N Roll and the b-sides/outtakes from that era. *runs*
  9. Agreed, but that site has sure has lots of great music on it.
  10. Anyone got the down low on the international releases of Cardinology with bonus tracks? Pre-ordered the vinyl, but typically a cd version is released eventually with several extra tracks. Trying to limit multiple copies here peeps. PS: Alice does not suck.
  11. Saw you at the show. I was right behind you but dipped to a dif spot because of frat clowns talking through masterplan. I was wearing a summerteeth shirt. Did you end up going to the fleet foxes show at the black cat? Or has that not happened yet?
  12. Couldn't agree more about the vibe at Friday Cheers, but it is pretty bad ass having Dr. Dog or Jason Isbell as opposed to the type of junk they normally have. DBT played last year which was great, but generally it is totally forgetable crap. Not trying to hijack this into a pro-Richmond thread, but between this the National and Toad's place there are a lot more options than there have been in a while to see decent bands in Richmond. If someone told me last summer that Dr. Dog would play Friday Cheers I would have laughed in their face. What do you think of Toad's and The National?
  13. Last night they played a free show here in Richmond on Brown's Island. Hadn't seen them live since way back in 2004 when they opened for MMJ at a show here in town. What a great band and the stuff off Fate sounded great.
  14. It's on the vinyl and import cd version of Jacksonville City Nights. The vinyl also has a great cover of I Still Miss Someone and both have a kick ass version of What Sin Replaces Love.
  15. I have to say that this is exactly the type of reaction to leaks/downloading that I was hoping for and that I hope this becomes a trend. The primary reason that I search around for leaks is that I am tired of waiting 6 months for a record to be released.
  16. Real news or bs? According to this there is a possibility that the Raconteurs will release their second album Tuesday on Vinyl with the cd following the next week. Hopefully this is true. I like the first album.
  17. I would have to side with the artists on this one. I do not understand why anyone needs to talk on a cell phone at a show. Stipe may have been an ass at the show Tenderloin saw. I still don't understand why people are talking constantly during a show.
  18. You really can't go wrong with much they have done other than NYC Ghosts & Flowers which sorta blows. A Thousand Leaves is a personal favorite because of the long jammy songs.
  19. That's a pretty good list. For me.... Radiohead - OK Computer 24 Bit Vinyl Rip
  20. I give up on the archives. I just want Homegrown released as a single cd. PLEASE! I've been wanting to hear this since I saw Neil play "Seperate Ways" with Booker T & the MG's way back in the early 90's.
