  1. I would love for Wilco to do something like that, in theory. It's great for the people who live in the town where the show is, but I have to travel at LEAST 2 hours for every single Wilco show I have seen. I wish there was a way for ticket buying to be fair for locals & non-locals. Like the Will-Call only option you mentioned, that would be great! And I'm not defending stubhub, but if I get my 3rd row seat I am gonna be happy. At this point I feel like it's a big if, though.
  2. yeah, if all gets confirmed and worked out i will be happy. i haven't seen the band in so long i thought it was worth the money to be close to the stage.
  3. i hope so. i've never bought tickets from anywhere other than ticketmaster or the wilco pre-sales
  4. They are supposed to be pretty good. This is what I got from them.
  5. Good luck! I haven't gotten confirmation from stubhub yet about the pit seat i bought yesterday, and i am freaking out about it a little... bad idea.
  6. i didn't even consider that! he was driving in the dream though, and we almost hit some people. probably one of the best dreams i have ever had
  7. i bit the stub hub bullet and bought a pit seat for the atlanta show. mostly cos i had more holiday pay than anticipated. i am a little nervous about it, but hope the ticket is legit. still gonna hang on to my pre-sale tickets til i am 100% sure that the pit seat is legit, but i couldn't pass up the oppertunity to be so close to the stage after not seeing Wilco for over a year and half. it was either the ticket, or an ipod touch, and i have a perfectly good ipod classic... say prayers for the legitimate-ness of my seat in row CCC! :hmmm
  8. yeah, i was bummed that the characters in the text box were limited too. maybe i can try to get down to ATL early and mill around til I see one of the guys and ask in person. Of course this is all over 3 months away.. but it's fun to talk about
  9. yeah, he probably already made it, he asked if i liked "Pieholden Suite" and of course i was like ":w00t yes!" and he whispered "well, it's 1st tonight!" and i was like it was a really funny moment!
  10. yeah, i've seen it at a solo show, and it made me cry. it's been my favorite song since the leak of a ghost is born hit all those years ago... i remember i asked Jeff about it in Nashville and he said "We can't play it tonight, but if you come to Alabama tomorrow we'll play it." Maybe I will get lucky this time!
  11. So, I have seen Wilco at least once a year since 2005 (except for last year when the Knoxville show fell on the same day as a hometown Avett Brothers show), and every show I have tried my darndest to get the band to play "Wishful Thinking". The closest I have come is hearing it at a solo show, which was AMAZING, don't get me wrong, but there is something about the full band arrangement that is so dang awesome! So, I am wondering if you guys would take a moment to go to wilcoweb and request that "Wishful Thinking" be played in Atlanta. If not I will have to make a sign, and the last time I did
  12. That's really cool! I think the smallest place I have seen them play is the Ryman. I think the largest was the Greek Theatre... this upcoming show at the Fox in ATL should be interesting. I read capacity was close to 6,500
  13. The night before I saw Wilco live for the 1st time, I had this dream that I got to meet all the band before the show, and Jeff was carrying me around on his shoulders. We talked about "The Lion King" and drank diet coke. I also got several high fives from John for being able to spell his last name backwards and forwards. Then the show started but I was the only person in the audience. I woke up right before they finished the last song. Then, low and behold I got to meet the band the next night at the show! Another time I has a dream that I ran into the band at the (now-defuct) supermarket of
  14. this might be the best thing i've seen on youtube all day. i wish i would have been old enough to see Wilco when they were playing tiny places like that.
  15. i laughed so hard i almost cried. i think i need help because i could visualize everything you wrote.
  16. I think the self-titled release might be my favorite record from them.
  17. can i repost this to my tumblr?
  18. how legit is stub hub anyway? i looked, and all the tickets seem to be WAAAAAY over face value
  19. every wilco show i've seen with the exception of 2 outdoor shows has had over 20 songs... usually around 23-25 or so. looking forward to the "extended" sets! the best wilco show i ever saw was 28 songs long.
  20. just saw this on Twitter... Additional Pre-Sale tix for both Montclair, NJ shows available at Noon EST today at http://wilco.frontgatetickets.com/ http://bit.ly/6HHh5L Also, I was goofing around on Ticketmaster, and apparently there's an ATL pre-sale going on now, promo code: dave
  21. i saw that and literally shivered. YUCK!
  22. my philosophy with these type things is that if i can't get a pair i try for the best single seats possible. i mean it's not like you are going to really be able to chat with the person next to you DURING th show (at least i would hope not). Plus, it would give us something to talk about at the end of the show. That being said I did get a pair of tickets for the ATL show. Row L. Seats 18 & 20.
  23. Got 2 for ATL. Row L. Pleased to be in the ORCH section at least!
  24. i am so freaking excited. i was trying to explain to a friend why i am so excited, and all i could say was "they are my beatles, except, well not, the beatles, but pretty damn close"
