  1. I want to post it on my sister's facebook wall, cos she made a stomach face too, and it would make her giggle.
  2. yeah, i loved him. he was great, and a super nice guy too!
  3. Oh yeah, while I was typing the setlist I remember something funny that happened... right when the band came on, the drunks who were immediately to my left started flipping out about Jay. One guy was so excited he hit the monitor wedge and Jay said something like "There's a party going on down here." and the guys freaked out even more prompting Jay to motion with his hands "Let's keep it down there!" and Mark Spencer was kinda baffled by how excited these guys were and said "Easy guys, easy!"... I stood there like this: very bizarre. And, as if Jay's comment was some sort of eerie foreshadow
  4. here's the setlist from Saturday!! The Picture Feel Free Down to the Wire Dust of Daylight Cocaine and Ashes When the Wheels Don't Move Ten Second News Dynamite Pushed Too Far Jukebox of Steel Methamphetamine Tear Stained Eye Strength and Doubt No Turning Back Big Sur Medication The Search Buzz and Grind Bandages & Scars Afterglow 61 ------------------- Action Roll On Windfall Kat w/ Peter Burntnell on tambourine (I don't know who sang this song originally, but it was a heck of the way to end the show)
  5. It was a bit different. I actually got Jay's list. I can type it up this evening.
  6. He really couldn't have been nicer, although, Jeff is still my favorite of any musician I've ever met, but ya know...i might be a little biased. Weird about him saying he didn't do pictures, maybe it's cos your a dude? Oh yeah, it was a really good show. The songs from American Central Dust were great live. The last time I saw them back in Feb they played a lot of them too, but I think it really helps to be familiar with the record too.
  7. for sure. i didn't know what to expect meeting him, but he was in a great mood! i think a lot of it probably had to do with it being the last night of the tour. i am still smiling about it. though, i was cautious, and totally took the wilco button off my jacket before i went to the show. also, the support band was great! perter bruntnell was his name. really really good stuff.
  8. i was hanging outside the venue waiting for doors and he walked by so i said "hey jay, i'm a huge fan!" and he turned around and shook my hand and asked my name. I told him i've been a fan for a very long time, and he asked if i was from chattanooga (where the show was) and we talked a bit about Chickamauga and i asked him what it was like to make the record with Ben Gibbard. He said it was an interesting experience. I told him I was a music major in school and he wished me luck. I asked if I could take a picture, and he said sure and got Mark Spencer to take it. I was showing Mark how to work
  9. Met Jay Farrar tonight. Totally nice guy. Had a good chat with him about songwriting and stuff. He cracked a couple of jokes too... I was very impressed with what a nice fella he was. The show was really good. Probably would rank it #2 out of the 4 times i have seen em.
  10. Seeing them tonight, very excited. This will be Son Volt show #4 for me.
  11. listening to animal collective for the first time. part of me wants to say: and part of me wants to say:

i thought the contest did't end til the 27th? either way that's awesome! congrats, although i am a little sore i didn't win...
  14. I'm not knocking, I just don't understand the wishing for it.... especially cos bothe bands (in my opinion, at least) are putting out really great records. Yeah, all the reunions (save for Dinosaur Jr.) that i've seen in concert have been lackluster.
  15. i do not understand why everybody is itching for them to reunite. For real, Son Volt makes good music, Wilco makes good music, and Uncle Tupelo MADE good music. Listen to the records and go see SV and Wilco when they tour. Usually at a Son Volt show you're guaranteed at least 1 UT song! It would be pointless for them to reunite because they obviously have no common interest in working with one another, and all that would result would be awkward mush.
  16. i love the hummingbird dance!
  17. "hummingbird" supplies a white guy's attempt to dance it's only running!
