  1. I routinely make an ass of myself in IM's (gmail chat, facebook chat, all of em)- and phone calls make me nervous. perhaps i should draw my thoughts in the dirt with a stick? texting while driving is so dumb! i hardly even will talk on the phone in a car that i am not driving. i don't see how people can do it.
  2. maybe you can luck out on the richmond thing too. yeah, i am a college student too, and basically used every bit of my extra holiday pay for the pit seat, but for me it's a big deal cos i haven't seen the band in almost 2 years. i found out today that there is a STRONG possibility that my final concert for school (we're doing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana) might be on the same day as the wilco show, and i am planning to skip the choir concert to go see wilco. my priorities are really whack...
  3. true, but if it sells out, and there's no more tickets to be bought the price could sky rocket even farther. i guess it just depends on priorities and available funds...
  4. I got a confirmation today from stubhub about the tickets I bought. Of course, I am not going to be happy until sitting in my 3rd row seat in the Fox Theatre waiting for Wilco to come on stage... i figure it that i would never be able to get a 3rd row seat these days without paying the prices. i just hope it's not a scam or something...
  5. i've only been a casual fan for a year or so now, but my sister was listening to that "german" song from "Alice", and i've just started listening and can't quit. Got 4 albums off the internets today.
  6. The Avett Brothers- April 18- Tivoli Theatre Chattanooga, TN: this show was great because it was hometown for me, and I got to take my sister for her birthday. It's always neat to see a rock show at the Tivoli, because I've played there in a classical setting, and the atmosphere is totally different The Decemberists- Sept 27- Ryman Auditorium Nashville TN: wow!! the decemberists are amazing live. I was so blown away by this show! really brought the Hazards of Love to life, and made it one of my very favorite records of the year Son Volt- Nov. 21- Rhythm and Brews Chattanooga, TN: i got to
  7. i am in full-blown addict mode to Tom Waits.
  8. i probably haven't listened to her stuff as close i should. that poker face song irritates the hell out of me. toby keith would be a good one. or better yet... brooks and dunn
  9. I sure hope it works, thanks guys! It would be amazing to get to see the song full band. Though, I am going to be happy with whatever they play because by the time I see them it will have been 2 years since the last time I'd seen them at the Ryman!
  10. if i actually get the seat i will be sure to do that. i know it's just the medication i'm on right now, but i am super paranoid about it... also, thanks for clarifying the will-call thing Brianne, i get what you're saying now, and yeah, if venues did that it would be awesome!
  11. Yeah, I still have a day and a half to get the confirmation e-mail, but it's still messing with my head. Btw- Paul, were you buy any chance at the Decemberists show at the Ryman back in Sept? I was looking at my friend's pictures and I think I saw you in the background of one of them.
  12. I would love for Wilco to do something like that, in theory. It's great for the people who live in the town where the show is, but I have to travel at LEAST 2 hours for every single Wilco show I have seen. I wish there was a way for ticket buying to be fair for locals & non-locals. Like the Will-Call only option you mentioned, that would be great! And I'm not defending stubhub, but if I get my 3rd row seat I am gonna be happy. At this point I feel like it's a big if, though.
  13. yeah, if all gets confirmed and worked out i will be happy. i haven't seen the band in so long i thought it was worth the money to be close to the stage.
  14. i hope so. i've never bought tickets from anywhere other than ticketmaster or the wilco pre-sales
  15. They are supposed to be pretty good. This is what I got from them.
  16. Good luck! I haven't gotten confirmation from stubhub yet about the pit seat i bought yesterday, and i am freaking out about it a little... bad idea.
  17. i didn't even consider that! he was driving in the dream though, and we almost hit some people. probably one of the best dreams i have ever had
  18. i bit the stub hub bullet and bought a pit seat for the atlanta show. mostly cos i had more holiday pay than anticipated. i am a little nervous about it, but hope the ticket is legit. still gonna hang on to my pre-sale tickets til i am 100% sure that the pit seat is legit, but i couldn't pass up the oppertunity to be so close to the stage after not seeing Wilco for over a year and half. it was either the ticket, or an ipod touch, and i have a perfectly good ipod classic... say prayers for the legitimate-ness of my seat in row CCC! :hmmm
  19. yeah, i was bummed that the characters in the text box were limited too. maybe i can try to get down to ATL early and mill around til I see one of the guys and ask in person. Of course this is all over 3 months away.. but it's fun to talk about
  20. yeah, he probably already made it, he asked if i liked "Pieholden Suite" and of course i was like ":w00t yes!" and he whispered "well, it's 1st tonight!" and i was like it was a really funny moment!
  21. yeah, i've seen it at a solo show, and it made me cry. it's been my favorite song since the leak of a ghost is born hit all those years ago... i remember i asked Jeff about it in Nashville and he said "We can't play it tonight, but if you come to Alabama tomorrow we'll play it." Maybe I will get lucky this time!
  22. So, I have seen Wilco at least once a year since 2005 (except for last year when the Knoxville show fell on the same day as a hometown Avett Brothers show), and every show I have tried my darndest to get the band to play "Wishful Thinking". The closest I have come is hearing it at a solo show, which was AMAZING, don't get me wrong, but there is something about the full band arrangement that is so dang awesome! So, I am wondering if you guys would take a moment to go to wilcoweb and request that "Wishful Thinking" be played in Atlanta. If not I will have to make a sign, and the last time I did
  23. That's really cool! I think the smallest place I have seen them play is the Ryman. I think the largest was the Greek Theatre... this upcoming show at the Fox in ATL should be interesting. I read capacity was close to 6,500
  24. The night before I saw Wilco live for the 1st time, I had this dream that I got to meet all the band before the show, and Jeff was carrying me around on his shoulders. We talked about "The Lion King" and drank diet coke. I also got several high fives from John for being able to spell his last name backwards and forwards. Then the show started but I was the only person in the audience. I woke up right before they finished the last song. Then, low and behold I got to meet the band the next night at the show! Another time I has a dream that I ran into the band at the (now-defuct) supermarket of
