Yeah, I have sent several (I guess about 15-20) emails to craigslist people about tickets, but not had any responces yet. I think it's because I am flying in and don't live there.

Hey guys, So I am going to be attending 2 Wilco shows in CA (Santa Barabra and Berkeley) and I have a ticket to Santa Barabra (thanks to the great generosity of a fellow VC'er!), but missed the boat on the Berkeley tickets because the sold out when I was at work...so anyway, I am sort of freaking out about not having a ticket yet, and I am considering buying from one of those scalping ticket websites (ie: Stubhub). I dunno though... what do you guys think I should do? I have already booked my flight, and have used a signifigant chunk of my summer savings to do so.

Making "On and On and On" into a music theory exercise!

Dude, I don't have a program to do it... I do it all by hand. Old school, represent! -
saw it again monday night, and i liked it a little better than the first time. i thought it went by really fast. didn't seem like 2 hours. watched the 4th one last night, and it seemed to flow a bit better than this new one...

Since school starts next month I am trying to get back into the groove of things by doing some stuff related to the class I am taking. So this morning, as I sat in a traffic jam, I was listening to "On and on and on" and started to come up with other vocal parts for the song. Like, if there were no other instruments on it besides Jeff's voice, but fill it in with the tenor, bass and alto parts. Make it like a 4-part choral song. It worked suprisingly well. I will try to work it out on some staff paper and post it... Has anybody else tried anything like that?

Yeah, Rupert Grint(or is it Grunt?) is a good actor. We recently saw a non-HP movie he did called "Driving Lessons" that was pretty good. Funny stuff. I want to see the movie again to digest it better... hopefully sometime this week

I can't figure out how to save it. That's really cool though.

yeah, i got the connection, though it reads more like an onomonopea(however the crap you spell it)... to me, as he's a crusty old house elf. and yeah, totally he could be dangerous, but i don't think magically speaking he could...

My local college station is playing "Impossible Germany" as a follow-up to "What Light" heard it 2 times yesterday. It made me really happy.

thanks for all the info. i actually have a friend in CA, and we are going to be driving to Berkley and I don't exactly know how I am going to get to Santa Barbara yet... so yeah, I am pretty much gonna fly to Burbank from either Chattanooga(which is the price mentioned above) or out of Atlanta which is a bit cheaper...

that's the truth. i leaned over to my sister and said "it looks like he's eating her face! which caused her to giggle for a good 5 minutes.

Oh ok, yeah, I can stuff all my crap in a small bag... I don't carry hardly anything as far as clothes go... I'll just have to find a small piece of luggage. I have one of the LL Bean backpacks, maybe that would work...

if you really want to learn and become technically proficient you need to study the classical guitar...whoo boy it's crazy!

no wonder my sister doesn't think i need to travel by myself... i know nothing about it.

I actually watched this on youtube this morning before I found the thread. Really good job! I could hardly figure out what to say to Nels when I met him... other than "doyathinkicouldhaveaguitarpick :blush"

Oh yeah, the "when" part is kinda important. I'm leaving on August 23 and have to come home on the 27... plan on going to the Berkley show and the Santa Barbara shows... Yep, the flights I have found have all had 2 connections each way... but the layover is about 2 hours, so plenty of time to get to where the next flight is I think... would I have to pick my bags up and re-check them?
-
i think i actually played that once
-
because you get to push buttons and pretend? i don't see the appeal in these games either. I tried the guitar hero one and sucked at it
-
Yep. Hopefully in August I will be going out to California for a few days to visit some friends and see Wilco play. I am horrible with traveling, because the only travel I have done has been with band on a bus. Only been on a plane 2 times. I have been checking the cheaptickets.com and Orbitz and all that for flights almost daily, and I have found a flight out for $489.09 is that a good rate? I have to switch airline carriers though, so I don't know exactly what that means... Any help would be appreciated! (PS: I'm also looking for a place to crash for a night... )
