I'm actually looking forward to this new album - heard positive things about it so far. Shame his May tour isn't coming to Cambridge...

My girlfriend isn't a HUGE music fan but, living with me, it's kinda rubbing off on her. She's (musically) very open-minded and enjoys me putting on random bands she's not heard of before. More often than not, she likes them to. She likes coming to gigs too - she's been wowed by both Ryan Adams and The Decemberists in recent years and she still talks about those gigs... Some of the others she's not been so keen on!!

Johnny Foreigner - Waited Up 'Til It Was Light Oooo... this is a bit good. Sounds a bit like Los Campesinos! but a bit fuzzier...

Futurama is orders of magnitude better than The Simpsons. The Sopranos wasn't all that. The OC was fantastic. There Will Be Blood would have been so much better without the last 1/2 an hour or so.

Hmmmm... that Plants and Animals record didn't sit very well with me... Onto this:

I'm going to reserve final judgment on the album as a whole until I've heard it properly... maybe some of the tracks will sound a bit bigger.

Good point about the tracklisting Kyle - I think that's it. The opening segment of the album is the poorest part of it. If they had been mixed in, it would have been easier to swallow, so to speak. I don't think it's a particularly experimental album, it certainly feels like a continuation of stuff they'd been messing around with on Z. I do think Highly Suspicious sucks monkey balls though - wish they'd left that on the cutting room floor or something.

I'd love to see American Analog Set... their on indefinite hiatus, so who knows, but I just love their albums and never had a chance to catch them live.

No UK dates? Thought they might have sneaked onto one of the ATP weekends...
