  1. I think it's his best since Vauxhall And I in my opinion. I'm a massive Morrissey fan, but the last 2 albums have always sounded a bit stodgy to me - lacked a musical inspiration. However, it feels a little rougher this time around - he's angry, and it suits him!
  2. Seeing him live on Wed - not sure if it's a full band or solo show, but can't wait. Hold Time really is a superb record - though the critics seem to be not so keen on it so far.
  3. "LUSH"... I think you've definitely hit the nail on head there. I'll stick it on in the car just to make sure as I'm about to finish work!

    UK Dates?

At least there's some plans... I can see them playing a festival or two (Glasto, Lattitude) but I can't see them playing Brixton after the cancellation last time.
  5. This IS great news... I dug out Some Cities the other weekend - I'd forgotten what a great record it is.
  6. Perhaps "polished" isn't the right word... I'm trying to get my thoughts about it onto paper and I'm really struggling, but in a good way. I was worried it might disappoint, but I shouldn't have.
  7. I thought this might be the first AC album I'd like... but no, they still do nothing for me... Which is odd, as I think I SHOULD like it, but it leaves me really cold. Perhaps I'm dead inside.
  8. Loving Hold-Time, it's a great album. It's slightly more "polished" than his previous albums though, it feels as thought he's taken some time and effort to craft a full bloodied record. Not sure that makes sense, but it's what I feel when I hear it
  9. Very tempting... shame I don't live in Cardiff anymore, Clwb Ifor Bach is a great venue...
  10. That book sounds interesting... I've just started reading "The Rest Is Noise" by Alex Ross which I purchased with some recent vouchers. Loving it so far, he writers with such enthusiasm, it's great. Louie, you're right, I don't know how much music I've got to actually listen to, but I snatch and purchase anyway. Finally got round to listening to the Steve Reich Nonesuch Retrospective box set last night. Great stuff.
  11. I agree with Louie - Feldman is brilliant, well worth checking out. I think you can even find some of his records freely available on the web. A resource worth looking at is radiOM.org, has loads of stuff you can stream for free and is a good place to "try before you buy": http://radiom.org/
  12. Oooo... nice, not heard that in AGES. NP: Nice, sunday evening music...
  13. This is good stuff. I'm hoping he'll come over to the UK for some dates, though it's probably unlikey
  14. I actually liked the way it displayed the results but, yeah, I found it a poor way to find info. Gave it a prolonged chance today whilst troubleshooting some stuff and Google kicked it's ass.
  15. Was: Which is really, really good. Now: Which I've yet to make my mind up about...
  16. It's ok... Nothing really grabbed me on my first listen though and it sounds like he's trying REALLY HARD to be "country". Perhaps I'll get my head around it after a few more listens.
  17. Speaking of Grizzly Bear... I'm playing the new Department of Eagles album, In Ear Park. And mighty fine it is too.
