B000E6GBYE.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

I dropped a line, took a nap

I fell asleep on my back

I dreamed of the tears in your eyes

Your features grew like the tide

I need someone and you need someone to love tonight

Who needs someone?

Who needs someone to pick a fight?

I parked a bike down the aisle

Had conversations for a while

I long for the ghost towns and July

Your heart still belongs to the new guy

I need someone and you need someone to love tonight

Who needs someone?

Who needs someone to pick a fight?

Is what I need way too much?

Too much to ask for but not enough

I know I appeared and we tied

Do you still think we wasted our lives?

I need someone and you need someone to love tonight

Who needs someone?

Who needs someone to pick a fight?

I need someone and you need someone to love tonight

Who needs someone?

Who needs someone to pick a fight?

Just echoing kidsmoke here Bridget........"who is that?"

Took a sad song of one sweet evening

I smiled and quickly turned away.

It's not easy singing sad songs

but still the easiest way I have to say.

So when you look into the sun

and see the things we haven't done

oh was it better then to run

than to spend the summer crying.

Now summer cannot come anyway.

I had waited for time to change her.

The only change that came was over me.

She pretended not to want love

I hope she was only fooling me.

So when you look into the sun

look for the pleasures nearly won.

Or was it better then to run

than to spend the summer singing.

And summer could have come in a day.

So if you hear my sad song singing

remember who and what you nearly had.

It's not easy singing sad songs

when you can sing the song to make me glad.

So when you look into the sun

and see the words you could have sung:

It's not too late, only begun,

we can still make summer.

Yes, summer always comes anyway.

So when you look into the sun

and see the words you could have sung:

It's not too late, only begun.

Look into the sun.

Sleep

Sleep tonight

And may your dreams

Be realized

If the thundercloud

Passes rain

Let it rain

Rain on him

So let it be

So let it be

Sleep

Sleep tonight

And may your dreams

Be realized

If the thundercloud

Passes rain

So let it rain

Let it rain

Rain on him

When I joined the navy

I left my mother

I met a man, a man like no other

Well he wore a stud

And he wore a patch

And he sailed the seven seas now

And he wore a Stentson hat

With he was a six-shooter

And a Buccaneer

He was a black bearded cowboy

He told me in my ear

A man of my caliber, exactly can

Strontium-90

Removed from milk

As curious an entity

As bullshit writ on silk

Cancer's airborne now

Do you hear the sound?

I was hanging out the washing, man

As the rain come falling down

Now the grass lies snakes

Has crowds of iodine and fire

On Jezebel's luminescence

I swear you are my heart's desire

Bomb proof the embassy

Give infanticide a cemetary

You looked so good on the late night news

With your curtain and your deed

Yeah, I love you like a violin

I'll hunt you like an amputee

But I ain't gonna lose my skin

I would love to see you again, again

I... I would love to see you again

I... I would love to see you again

You wrote me a letter

And this is how it went:

It said, "We're backing up the supply lines

The first division's crossin' the Nile

Through the rushes and up the side

And into the machine gun fire

Tell me that this is not a dream

I've become a steel spring

Uranium tips night vision cruise missles

Gonna cut the belly out of the sky

I rode an Abrams

We stopped in Bethlehem

They made the answers here

But there weren't so many questions then

And there I shot a woman

In a headscarf with my gun

She said 'Does my bomb look big in this?

Am I the only one?'

I was in the blitz you know

My heart was young and true

I had a Caesarean, but it was not any use

Oh calamity! Oh the vanity!

You can't ride a thunderbolt

You can't claim an enemy

See, there ain't nothing here

Except a darkness

I ain't gonna fail no test

I gave my dowry to a finger on a switch

Turn me to a fine pink mist

But I ain't nothing but a stranger still

If I'm even anyone at all

But I ain't gonna lose my skin

I would love to see you again

I... I would love to see you again

I... I would love to see you again

But that ain't gonna happen now

It's no use to pretend

How many people gonna lie?

How many people gonna die?

What's best for the Western and the greed?

Kill 'em all? Let 'em breed?

Another bomb for every atom you injure

Meet the Devil with extended ring finger

Saying 'thou shalt not kill'

But I'm damned if I don't

So I'm thinking I will

Yeah, Dan Pearl

They cut your head off on TV

But I am not a camera

A man is not an effigy

But still all this horror

Has made a trench out of my soul

I'm gonna have to fall in love with a blind girl

So she will not see the shame that I know

Oh, new scar

You have raised the bar

Goliath rides an oil drum raft

Through a cyclone in my ear drums

You don't want a tyrant, we're sure

You'd prefer civil war

And I am gonna lose my skin

And I ain't gonna see you again

Again

I... I would love to see you again

I... I would love to see you again

Where the road is dark and the seed is sowed

Where the gun is cocked and the bullet's cold

Where the miles are marked in the blood and gold

I'll meet you further on up the road

Got on my dead man's suit and my smilin' skull ring

My lucky graveyard boots and song to sing

I got a song to sing, keep me out of the cold

And I'll meet you further on up the road.

Further on up the road

Further on up the road

Where the way dark and the night is cold

One sunny mornin' we'll rise I know

And I'll meet you further on up the road.

Now I been out in the desert, just doin' my time

Searchin' through the dust, lookin' for a sign

If there's a light up ahead well brother I don't know

But I got this fever burnin' in my soul

So let's take the good times as they go

And I'll meet you further on up the road

Further on up the road

Further on up the road

Further on up the road

Further on up the road

One sunny mornin' we'll rise I know

And I'll meet you further on up the road

One sunny mornin' we'll rise I know

And I'll meet you further on up the road.

Please open your eyes

Try to realize

I found out today

We're going wrong

Please open your mind

See what you can find

I found out today

We're going wrong

well i felt like i was born today

so i took it upon me to go away

to gather my thoughts and go away

where i could (be used by) somebody

now over the hill, like always you know

were billy and frankie and henry and joe

and they beat and broke me hard and slow

to prove i was nobody

and no one i was and so i remained

knocked-out in a hut, no mother, no name

and filled up my heart with one and the same

that grand dark feeling of emptiness

and was it a friend that turned me loose

or was it a girl come to baste my goose

or was it my great god who laid on his finger

and started my clock anew

ah no, it was rain

ah no, it was gunning

it was point break and buckle

and singing and cunning

that skinned me, re-skinned me

and started me running

and i never looked back from then on

and now i am learning bit by bit

about to make and model shit

the muddy bowl i live in it

and all the mucks that tire us

and im afeared if i dont have

a piglet, lamb, or little calf

ill chop my humanness in half

and be as worm or virus

but kids ive had and they are sung

upon folks ears my babes are hung

rhythmically they live among

and grow but dont get old

not in a box, not in a void

not if their voice is never heard

nor if no one repeats a word

but if their tune is told

then we can age and fall away

to meet again some golden day

and fill it in our happy way

in starlight and in gold

Who scared you? why were you born, my babe?

In two-time's arms with all of your charms, my love.

Why were you born? just to play with me?

To freak out or to be beautiful, my dear?

Load your head, blow it up, feeling good, baby

Load your head, blow it up, feeling good, baby, ahh.

Well my room is so cold, you know you don't have to go, my babe.

And if you warm it up right, I'm gonna love you tonight, my love.

Well I'm glad that we came, I hope you're feeling the same.

Who scared you and why were you born? Please stay.

I see your rider, coming down the road.

Got a burden, carrying a heavy load,

One sack of silver and one bag of gold.

The Broken Family Band - Walking Back To Jesus Part Two

Here I go again, holding on to you

I should have brought a length of rope

So I could hang myself out to dry

My eyes are so wet

We're walking back to Jesus

But you know that I don't feel his love as deeply as you do

He could have saved my family

At times I think you just forget

Mother Mary will you hold my hand

And say it's alright now

Father God will you touch my head

And say it's alright now

If it is, if it is

Your hand across my mouth could be useful now

Oh, you should have got me bound and gagged

Or beaten, doped up and confused

I shouldn't say such things

We both know where we're going

So it's not like you need me to shoot my dirty mouth off

If Jesus let me down then I should take it up with him

Mother Mary will you hold my hand

And say it's alright now

Father God will you touch my head

And say it's alright now

If it is, if it is

I'm not your only son

But I'm equal to whichever one you compare me to

And I'm not your only son

But I'm equal to whichever one you compare me to

So here I go again and I'm holding on to you

I should have brought a length of rope

So I could hang myself out to dry

My eyes are so wet

We're walking back to Jesus

But you know that I don't feel his love as deeply as you do

You could have saved my family

At times I start to think and then I just ah fuck it

Mother Mary will you hold my hand

And say it's alright now

Father God will you touch my head

And say it's alright now

If it is, we all wanna know if it is

I'm a living sunset

Lightning in my bones

Push me to the edge

But my will is stone

I believe in a better way

Fools will be fools

And wise will be wise

But i will look this world

Straight in the eyes

I believe in a better way

What good is a man

Who won't take a stand

What good is a cynic

With no better plan

I believe in a better way

Reality is sharp

It cuts at me like a knife

Everyone i know

Is in the fight of their life

I believe in a better way

Take your face out of your hands

And clear your eyes

You have a right to your dreams

And don't be denied

I believe in a better way

You may be sweet and nice,

But that wont keep you warm at night

cause Im the one who showed you how

To do the things youre doing now.

He may feel all your charms.

He might hold you in his arms,

But Im the one who let you in.

I was right beside you in the end.

Once upon a time,

You let me feel you deep inside,

But nobody knew, nobody saw.

Do you remember the way we cried?

Im your toy.

Im your old boy,

But I dont want no one

But you to love me.

No, I wouldnt lie.

You know Im not that kind of guy.

Once upon a time,

You let me feel you deep inside,

But nobody knew, nobody saw.

Do you remember the way we cried?

Im your toy.

Im your old boy,

But I dont want no one

But you to love me.

No, I wouldnt lie.

You know Im not that kind of guy.

Like the dust that settles all around me

I must find a new home

The ways and holes that used to give me shelter

Are all as one to me now

But I, I would search everywhere

Just to hear your call

And walk upon stranger roads than this one

In a world I used to know before

I miss you more

Than the sun reflecting off my pillow

Bringing the warmth of new life

And the sound that echoes all around me

I caught a glimpse of in the night

But now, now I've lost everything

I give to you my soul

And the meaning of all I believed before

Escapes me in this world of none, no thing, no one

And I would search everywhere

Just to hear your call

And walk upon stranger roads than this one

In a world I used to know before

But now I've lost everything

I give to you my soul

And the meaning of all I believed before

Escapes me in this world of none

I miss you more

Yesterday - well it seemed so cool

When I walked you home, kissed goodnight

I said it's love, you said all right

It's funny how I could never cry

Until tonight and you pass by

Hand in hand with another guy

You're dressed to kill and guess who

What else should I be

All apologies

What else should I say

Everyone is gay

What else could I write

I dont have the right

What else should I be

All apologies

In the sun

In the sun I feed as one

In the sun

In the sun

Im married

Buried

I wish I was like you

Easily amused

Find my nest of salt

Everything is my fault

Ill take all the blame

Aqua seafoam shame

Sunburn with freezerburn

Choking on the ashes of her enemy

All in all we all are

Well I woke this morning with a pain in my neck,

A pain in my heart and a pain in my chest,

I went to the good doctor and the good doctor said,

You gotta slow down your life or youre gonna be dead,

Cut out the struggle and strife,

It only complicates your life.

Well I cut down women I cut out booze,

I stopped ironing my shirts, cleaning my shoes,

I stopped going to work, reading the news,

Im sitting twiddling my thumbs cos I got nothing to do,

Minimal exercise,

To help uncomplicate my life,

Gotta stand and face it life is so complicated,

Ladi dah di dahdah, ladi dah di dah dah,

Got to get away from the complicated life son,

Life is overated, life is complicated,

Must aleviate this, complicated life.

Like old mother hubbard

I got nothin in the cupboard,

Got no dinner and I got no supper,

Holes in my shoes I got holes in my socks,

I cant go to work cos I cant get a job,

The bills are rising sky high,

Its such a complicated life,

Gotta stand and face it,

Life is so complicated.

If it's a temporary lull

why'm I bored right outta my skull?

Man, I'm dressin' sharp an' feelin' dull

Lonely, I guess that's where I'm from

If I was from Canada

then I'd best be called lonesome

And if it's just a game

Then I'll break down just in case

Oh yeah, we're runnin' in our last race

Well, I laughed half the way to Tokyo

I dreamt I was Surfer Joe

An' what that means, I don't know

A dream too tired to come true

Left a rebel without a clue

And I'm searching for somethin' to do

And if it's just a game

Then we'll hold hands just the same

So what, we're bleeding but we ain't cut

And I could purge my soul perhaps

For the imminent collapse

Oh yeah, I'll tell you what we could do

You be me for a while

I'll be you

A dream too tired to come true

Left a rebel without a clue

Won't you tell me what I should do?

And if it's just a lull

why'm I bored right outta my skull?

Oh yeah, keep me from feeling so dull

And if it's just a game

Then we'll break down just in case

Then again, I'll tell you what we could do

You be me for a while

You be me for a while

and I'll be you

She drew out all her money from the Southern Trust

And put her little boy on a Greyhound Bus

Leaving Memphis with a guitar in his hand

On a one-way ticket to the promised land

Hey little girl with the red dress on

There's party tonight down in Memphis down

I'll be going down there if you need a ride

The man on the radio says Elvis Presley's died

We drove down into Memphis, the sky was hard and black

Up over the ridge came a white Cadillac

They'd drawn out all his money and they laid him in the back

A woman cried from the roadside "Ah he's gone, he's gone"

They found him slumped up against the drain

With a whole lot of trouble running through his veins

Bye-bye Johnny

Johnny bye-bye

You didn't have to die

You didn't have to die

Sometimes I'm up

Sometimes I'm down

Other times I'm probably found

Somewhere between a pair of huge

Speakers pushed by vacuum tubes

Let it down

Watch it go round and round

Here I've found that I'm alright

If you're happy and you know it

Turn the volume up and blow it out

If youre happy and you know it

Turn the volume up and blow it out

Blow it out

Blow it oooout

Blow it out

You could be my guiding light

Shining in the vinyl bright

To help me find a place that's best

Where I can lay my arm to rest

Let it down

Watch it go round and round

Here the sound now I'm alright

If you're happy and you know it

Turn the volume up and blow it out

If youre happy and you know it

Turn the volume up and blow it out

Blow it out

Blow it out

Blow it out

Blow it ooooout

Blow it out!

Sam was lyin' in the jungle

Agent Orange spread against the sky like marmalade

Hendrix played on some foriegn jukebox

They were praying to be saved

Those gooks were fierce and fearless

That's the price you pay when you invade

Xmas in February

Sam lost his arm in some border town

His fingers are mixed with someone's crop

If he didn't have that opium to smoke

The pain would never ever stop

Half his friends are stuffed into black bodybags

With their names printed at the top

Xmas in February

Sammy was a short order cook

In a short order black and blue collar town

Everybody worked the steelmill

But the steelmill got closed down

He thought if he joined the Army

He'd have a future that was sound

Like no Xmas in February

Sam's staring at the Vietnam Wall

It's been awhile now that he's home

His wife and kid have left, he's unemployed

He's a reminder of the war that wasn't won

He's the guy on the street with the sign that reads

"Please help send this vet home"

But he is home

And there's no Xmas in February

No matter how much he saves
