bobbob1313
Dye 4 MVP. For real. He's been awesome. I almost wrote him off after his strong start, because I didn't think he could keep it up, but he has been. It's amazing. Oh, and come on, Dodgers! You win and we are one back. bobbob1313
Warning shot? He responded nicely. who is going to go first: Epstein or Francona? Well, only one of them knows what he's doing. And it's not Francona. Because he's pretty terrible at his job.
Edie
Paul Konerko should never ever be sent home all the way from first base on a double (or even what could have been a triple). That play last night was the ugliest thing ever.
cryptique
Who's coaching third for the Sox these days? Is it still Joey Cora? I always liked Cora as a player, but he's cost them a lot of outs as third-base coach.

Gotta disagree with your Francona comment. The guy is doing fairly well with absolutely no players. Whats he gonna do? Everyone is injured or fucked up. It amazes me he can scratch a line-up outta the broken pieces. If anyone is to blame I'd pin it on Theo. He did shit this year. He dismantled a championship team from 2 years ago, had that ridiculous off season last winter, made no significant moves this year before the deadline. Sheeesh. At least the owner and manager of the Sox aren't having a public spat. ( Sorry had to put that cheap shot in there) Now get back to your studies....or are you still in e-vac mode down there? tongue-tied lightning
Big Wet Machine is right ! Theo really had way to much faith in his rookie pitcherscoming through for him. They, as we see are not ready. I can't see any wildcard winner beating the Mets
bobbob1313
I'd say the Marlins and Padres could take New York, because they actually have pitching. Does anyone want to face those team's top 3 starters? I'd go ahead and say they have the top pitching staffs in the NL, and that's what is important in the playoffs. The Mets really don't have a great rotation.
Lammycat
Well, only one of them knows what he's doing. And it's not Francona. Because he's pretty terrible at his job.Ridiculous. Francona drives the team to a WS Championship his first year in Boston and keeps them well above .500 ball since and he doesn't know what he's doing? Theo is the one who opted not to fully pursue some proven pitching for the season, not Francona. The players are to blame. The pitching has not delivered (Beckett is up/down, besides Papelbon and Lester (and even then.....) the rookies have sucked. The bullpen has been consistently poor the entire season (Foulke?) and Wells and Wakefield have been DL's most of the season. The injuries have buried the Sox. Varitek and Trot Nixon hurt, as obviously do the recent additions of Ortiz, Manny and in part, Willie Pena. Collectively, it's a clusterfuck roster in Boston. I don't see how that can be put on the manager.

And who was responsible for Ortiz coming to Boston?

bobbob1313
so why are the Mets almost 20 games better than the Padres and Marlins ? They are the only really good offense in the NL. But they have no startin rotation. They do have a great bullpen though.
