Ah, I remember 12th grade.

For some reason, I have about 3 "About Me" essays to complete by Monday. I never had to do them any other time in my high school career, nor any in-class surveys about what I don't like to be asked to do. Why should this year be any different? Argh.

Because most teachers give up on teacher seniors on or about the 3rd day of school, and just give them bullshit assignments.

Ap usually doesn't get included.

I had to retake spanish 1 in senior year and my teacher just told me she'd give me a "C" if I didn't bother her.

Should I cut off all my hair?

Go ahead. Easier to take care of.

:o Must be something in the air! Sinead and Ro are also going for real hair cuts tomorrow. Lots of talk of "tapering" and "bangs" going on around here. :monkey :monkey

One of these verses nearly made the title, with the subtle twist being that I actually love this song:-

My papa was a great old man,

I can see him with a shovel in his hand

See, education he never had,

But he did wonders when the times got bad

Two days later papa passed away,

I became a man that day

So I told mama I was gonna quit school,

But she said that was daddy's strictest rule

So every morning 'fore I went to school

I fed the chickens and I chopped wood too

Sometimes I felt that I couldn't go on

I wanted to leave and run away from home

But I always remembered what my daddy said

With tears in his eyes on his dyin bed

Everyday I had to work the fields

Cause that's the only way we got our meals

You see, I was the boss of the family

And everybody else depended on me

Also, I will get down on my knees and worship anyone who knows this song:-

Grocer Jack, Grocer Jack. Is it true what Mammie said,

you won't come back? Oh no, no.

"Sometimes they are driven to thrash their time machines around frenetically as the sound wave pattern starts to literally move them deeply. It is at this time, when Michael is manipulating metallic tension devices in order to summon up these vibrations, that he is at his center. The center of his meat and bone time machine. Connecting himself in some way with the pale green B flat that dominates the known universe, at a wave length so long that you can't hear it, but it is playing out, that big bang chord and all of us in our organic time machines either harmonize or create dissonance across the backdrop of infinity, within the measure of our short lives. Enjoy."

How about this:

she said if love

if love

is a poison cup

then drink it up

because a sip

a sip

or a spoonful won't do

won't do nothing for you

but mess you up

Andrew, what are you doing with these thread titles? Are you trying to prove there's been alot of shitty music made over the years?

Err.. if it really bothers you I can make a change.

It's just a bit of therapy for any musical elitists. A complete lack of embarasement is quite liberating, and some have a certain nostalgia value. As has sometimes been discussed, for the older people here when AM radio ruled (probably even more so in the UK where there was only 1 national 'pop' station for years and years), we all shared a common musical landscape, good and bad. (And some are so bad they're good :P - at least now that some time has passed)

That's the weirdest looking yak I've seen yet.
