Mr. Tony Margaritatime
Old Joe MovieI was browsing myspace films and ran across this independent film starring our buddy Bonnie "Prince" Billy. The soundtrack is by Yo La Tengo. Anybody hear anything about this?
Oil Can Boyd
I remember seeing him in John Sayle's movie Matewan in the late 1980s and thinking he was great.
holweger
He was actually an actor before he became a musician. He even played the dad in the made-for-tv movie about Jessica McClure, the girl who fell in the well.
HighFives
isn't the movie called "OLD JOY"
Mr. Tony Margaritatime
Wow! Interesting...you learn something everyday. It is Old Joy. That's what I get for typing too fast.
Papillon Parade
He's been in quite a few films actually. Most recently that I've seen him in was Junebug. He plays a small part, but a part nonetheless. I haven't seen Old Joy yet, but I will. Unfortunately he's taking some heat in the press about this movie. People are comparing it to Brokeback just because it's about two guys in the woods.

Yo La Tengo were also responsible for the soundtrack to Junebug.
anodyne
matewan is excellent, and will is a very major character.
earlyinthemorning
"Old Joy" has gotten pretty much unanimously positive reviews. It's about 2 old friends who've drifted apart somewhat and attempt to reconnect on a hiking trip in the Oregon woods. It's pretty short (around an hour) and has been described as a cinematic short story.
Papillon Parade
not really a movie, but his best appearance was in 'Tripping With Caveh'he eats shrooms and gets goofy on camera for free! LOL..Just bought this a few months ago and LOVED it! Nothing better than seeing one of your musical heros get high and stung by bees.
Aarvid
Yeah, I found it quite amusing. It was a little short. I would have liked to have seen a bit more tho.
