Franky
I just watched the Devil and Daniel Johnston and it said that Wilco had covered one of his songs, True Love Will Find you in the End. Where is this cover and can I get a copy of it? (I'm just curious, I still don't quite understand this Daniel Johnston guy...)

Nonlinear Nonfiction
I believe there is a full band version on Disc 3 (Part 1) here... Jeff also played it solo at least once along the way... I uploaded it and you can download it here.

you ever seen a ghost?
it is a b-side for version 2 of the "A Shot in the Arm" single. it sounded like a studio recording to me, but i rarely listen to it, so i guess i could be wrong. did they use the live version as the B-side? -justin
froggie
sounds studio to me... listening now. i'm wondering when it was recorded. sounds very being there-ish. and it was played as early as mid

benjamin
I just watched this the "Devil and Daniel Johnston". Actually, I've watched it 2x in the past 5 days. It's incredible. I too saw in the end that they gave cred to Wilco for covering Daniel Johnston. The version I found sounds like it's straight out of the studio as well. Any1 have any clue where it's from? I found it easily by searching on google, but if anyone desires PM me. -Ben PS. WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!! incredible! For sure I'm going to get tickets to see him play in LA soon. benjamin
guess I found it. http://www.answers.com/topic/a-shot-in-the-arm-1 "Shot In The Arm" Single. Version 2. Sidenote.... I love comparing the version of Daniel Johnston's "To Go Home" to M.Ward's version off of his record "Post-War." Wow.

Littlebear
I'm just curious, I still don't quite understand this Daniel Johnston guy... Try this album: Songs like "Life in Vain" are as addictive as anything the Beatles ever did. Pure genius. Sometime he reminds me of Frank Black, too.

Griddles
I just stumbled upon Daniel Johnston today. I really like his art (too bad it coast like $1000). Any suggestions on which album to buy for a first one? Thanks. Note: this could be moved into Someone Else's song, but whatever.

pnêyu
I'm pretty sure the studio version you're referring to was recorded as part of a radio session for KFOG (a station here in SF).

PopTodd
Honestly, I think I prefer DJ's home recordings to anything that he did in the studio. I know that it's very self-consciously "indie" to do that, but there's something intimate about his basement recordings that really hits home with me. Despite the rough edges on the performances (to put it mildly). So, Fun is probably my least-favorite album of his. As to Wilco's version of that DJ song: Thanks! I'll check it out.
