So Long
I just bought 'Down with Wilco', and my first thought, within thirty seconds was "wow, this guy sounds just like John Lennon..." anybody else hear it?
aricandover
no, but it's a great album.
myboyblue
no, but it's a great album. Agreed... I actually think he sounds more like Paul McCartney. Maybe Paul with a splash of John. It is a great pop album though. Very underrated.... in particular by Wilco fans.

pillowy star
Scott sounding like one of the Beatles ?! I think I will have to commit suicide.
pnêyu
You should hear their version of "The Ballad of John and Yoko" (not that I have it).
HighFives
I think it sounds like a beatles album but not becuase of the vocals.
danelectro
That album was a let down for me, I prefer Scott's Young Fresh Fellows stuff.
lost highway
For some reason the Minus 5 has a .333 batting average to my taste buds. I compiled one to five songs that seem like solid tunes off each album and ended up with a decent record. Funny enough, the best listen start to finish is At the Organ. One thing that guy can do is keep writing awesome songs and get Jeff Tweedy or Collin Meloy to sing them. I'll keep listening either way, the gems are worth it.
