Beltmann
"Plasticities." Perfect choice, I think.
rzback543
really enjoyed it. Probably my favorite album of this year so far.
Mystik Spiral
just got back from the long winters/the broken west/stars of track and field show. not that i'm complaining... just hoping i catch plasticities ( ) on youtube before it's pulled. and at least i get to see andrew (and apostle of hustle!) on the 25th. pnêyu
Well, that kicked ass. Seriously, bands usually sound so bad on Letterman, but that was awesome (too bad my stupid TiVo always cuts off the end of the show--grr!).
ms. yvon
damn that tivo!! HOORAY FOR ANDREW!!  pneyu, any chance that programming fragment will still be on your recorder come may 1?
Scalzunfield
This album still ain't grabbing me, but I'm still seeing him Saturday.
M. (hristine
Just watched it on YouTube. Wow. I really dig the new album. Now I am extra jazzed to see him in a couple of weeks

solace
loved every bit of it minus the fairly abrupt ending  great choice on the suites!
cryptique
loved every bit of it minus the fairly abrupt endingVery abrupt. I think Letterman was running a bit long (it ended at 12:36 by my clock).  I believe I misspelled the song title on that video ... I keep reading it as "Plasticites" without the I between the T and the E.
Mystik Spiral
just caught it on youtube. that was incredible. only 2 weeks 'til the show... Â thanks for the upload, cryptique.
solace
i was happy to hear how tight it was, because Andrew has a tendency to sing things with odd phrasing, especially compared to the records, and leave out a number of words, but it was damn good last night
Chendizzle
How is his whistling even real? It's too freaking gorgeous sounding.
jhh4321
What a talented bastard. That was awesome. I need to figure out how to catch him on this tour.

Moe_Syzlak
My DVR cut it off too, but I liked what I heard. I love Bird, but haven't seen him live. Frankly, despite rave reviews from everyone I know that has seen him, what I've heard of his live stuff (webcasts and the Fingerlings series) doesn't do much for me because the arrangements are so much sparser than the studio versions due to his use of looping. Also, he tends to totally change the melodies live. I'm an improv junkie but he takes a little too much liberty with his songs live for my tastes. That said, the half of Plasticites that I heard sounded much better than a lot of the live stuff I've heard from him. I still wish he'd get a full band though. Armchair Apocrypha is by far my favorite album of the year so far... and it isn't even nearly as good as Mysterious Production of Eggs! This dude has some talent! Opuntia
First I heard of Andrew Bird was from seeing his name on this board so I decided to record the letterman show the other now...WOW!
Leo
Saw him at the Majestic in Detroit last night. Absolutely beautiful. Enjoyed the live show better than the albums. His violin playing will bring you to tears. Maybe a little too much whistling (he could easily lead the chorus in Bridge Over The River Kwai).
