cryptique
Very cool. I love APHC. I detested the movie, though.
TheMaker
Wow, can I ask why? That was definitely one of Altman's hits (let's be frank, he had his fair share of misses), and I thought it was a wonderful movie to end his storied career with.
solace
First Ave has no shows 5/12 & 5/13....

I love the radio program (I've even attended a performance) and what they put out on a weekly basis is ten times more entertaining than that film was. I didn't care about any of the backstage storylines, and the whole thing was so stiff. And Streep and Tomlin really had no business singing together. I couldn't wait for it to end. floyd7201
So, Solace, you're implying that they may schedule a show for 5/12 or 5/13... Or are you thinking some sort of unscheduled thing? I mean, thats only a week away so it seems like it'd be hard to announce a show and sell tix in that ammount of time. Also, I'm assuming that they will only play one or two songs on PHC, right? LouieB
I didn't see the movie, but, despite being a faithful NPR listener, this is one show I can't stand. I am tired of the cutesy skits and all that stuff. Sometimes the musicians are good and sometimes they are just banal. LouieB

Also, I'm assuming that they will only play one or two songs on PHC, right?what would be without Wishful Thinking? i don't think they'd have any problem selling out (or close) First Ave if they announced the show on Tuesday or Wednesday next week and even just did day of show tickets only at like $25-30 a pop... my thought is the band may not bring their own equipment for APCH, simply cuz it is only 2-3 songs or so. a Jeff solo show might be more feasible
paddy3001
The show is schedule to start at 4:45. I don't know how long PHC usually runs, but I would think that it'd be over in plenty of time for Tweedles and Company to play an evening show somewhere if they wanted. Here's hoping.... zach5277
I've always wondered if Wilco would play on PHC someday... almost surprised that they didn't get on the show during the Being There era. Anyways, should be really cool, Garrison usually gets the guests in on some of the sketches (Tweedy in Guy Noir?) in some pretty interesting ways. My family has listened to PHC for as long as I can remember, so it'll be really amazing to hear my favorite band playing on it!

cryptique
Will this be on NPR?It's not an NPR show, technically, but most NPR stations carry it. You'll want to check your local station's lineup.
Nonlinear Nonfiction
Although this solidifies the band as true "Dad-rockers," I'll be there with a bigass smile on my face.
