jeremy52
"Sky Blue Sky" is to 'A Ghost is Born' what "On the Breach" is to 'Tonight's the Night'. Anybody agree?
TCP
No, Sky Blue Sky is to A Ghost is Born as Zuma is to Prairie Wind.
peqger
Close, but no cigar. Let's try this: Sky Blue Sky is to A Ghost is Born what Silver And Gold is to Broken Arrow. Much better.

Atticus
when I first saw this thread title, I thought "finally someone is addressing my love of wilco." then I thought "what the hell is the rest of the thread (sub)title about." I wish I could join in on the Neil Young analogy, but I'm not well-versed enough. Pocahontas, where are you? --Neil
So Long
Sky Blue Sky is to A Ghost is Born as CSNY American Dream is to Trans

J_Lefty
A Ghost is born is to Sky Blue sky as Tonight's the Night is to Comes a Time (or silver in gold)... imo.
Is Chicago Is Not Chicago
at about 1:30 into "you are my face" I feel it becomes very remincisent of "southern man" during the instrumental break...
thermocaster
"Sky Blue Sky" is to 'A Ghost is Born' what "On the Breach" is to 'Tonight's the Night'. Anybody agree? No. But it's close. 'Sky Blue Sky' sounds closer to Zuma than Tonight's the Night. (Good call Halcyon) The closest thing in Neil's catalog that I can compare 'A Ghost is Born' to is Sleeps With Angels. It's ironic, because in that other thread that was comparing Wilco albums to Beatles albums, I was trying to come up with their analogues to Neil Young albums. I got this far: AM - American Stars & BarsBeing There - Everybody Knows This is NowhereMermaid Avenue 1 - Comes a TimeSummerteeth - ????Mermaid Avenue 2 - Old WaysYankee Hotel Foxtrot - The bastard child of Rust Never Sleeps and TransA Ghost is Born - Sleeps With AngelsSky Blue Sky - Zuma Nothing makes sense in the "Summerteeth" hole, unless you want to count the Buffalo Springfield tracks.
