Hilarious..From an ex purchase snearing, attitude coping, former indie AND corporate record store employee from way back in the day, this message is one I must share with my old coworkers, as although not a Wilco fan among them, they will love the sentiment all the same.

I'm sure many of you can very much relate as well... :)

Thanks for posting!

Christ. Is it possible to put out the fuckin' record without throwing on downloads, secret tracks, decoder rings? How about this: save the extra tracks and maybe put out an album every 1.5 years as opposed to the current 3-year wait?

And, yeah, I used to shop at My Generation, paid the higher price and endured the rudeness. I guess is made me feel somehow superior to the big box shoppers. Then it closed, and I got the Johnny Cash Unearthed set for 70% off. Now that's a happy ending.

funny in a coming soon to a torrent site near you kind of way?

It's interesting to me that now buying the CDs isn't enough, but you have to buy them at the right place as well.

That's because anyone who owns, works at or even shops at a mom and pop is a good person - probably a democrat who opposes the war, is favor of a woman's right to choose, and generally has the right opinion on issues...while anyone who shops, works, or is any way associated with a chain store is most likely related to Dick Cheney, enjoys the comedy of Dice Clay, and clubs baby seals in their free time.

I know, I was being sarcasmic. I'm sure there are plenty of good people toiling away at Best Buy, fye, etc., just like there are plenty of good people working at mom and pop shops.

Hmmph...

I shop at a large retail outlet because of several plain and simple facts:

I am the father of two teenagers.

I already word 60 hours a week.

Buying a cd from Best Buy who views it as a loss leader saves me money.

Plus...I am not overly fond of baby seals.

I bought my copy at a small indie retailer in Philly that is so cool it didn't even carry the bonus disc. Take that!

(and they also wear out The F'ng Champs record, which puts Shake It Off's noodling to shame)

erm, of course, it is on the radar enough that it does get decent distribution.

After all these years, he still make me call him Uncle Richard at family events...

Oh yeah - here's the 411 on that bonus disc:

Bonus Tracks:

1. One True Vine (previously unreleased, recorded at Wilco's loft in Chicago)

2. Theologians (live) (previously unreleased, recorded at The Vic Theater in Chicago, as part of the Live in Chicago series of shows that the Kicking Television album came from. This version was not on Kicking Television)
