MattZ
I've been a baseball fan for many years, gotta say this has done nothing for me. Sad to say it, but I feel the same way.
cryptique
Among other things, where's the outrage that Bonds was pretty clearly dogging it so he could hit #756 at home? "Class" is a word that I shall never apply to Bonds, except in the negative.
c53x12
congratulations Pumpkinhead McAsterisk....now let's get on with the rest of the season and forget about you...
MattZ
he's been nothing but class the past few weeks. I heard he has a class rating of .57687 over the past few weeks. I always get mixed up though, bobbonerd, is that all-star level?
Sir Stewart
Class is the most useless of baseball stats.

Lammycat
It was classy how he ignored his son at the plate after hitting the tainted milestone homer, too.
MrRain422
He ignored him before or after he gave him a huge hug? I thought his speech afterwards sounded sincere, and even touching. Humanized him a bit. Despite his history of being a gigantic asshole, I have no doubt that he was truly touched by the support of his fans and teammates. That being said, let the historical debate continue forever. I love it. And yeah, barring injury (of course), A-Rod will likely end up pretty solidly ahead of Bonds by the time he's finished. Just being snarky. It was a nice, brief speech, too.

Sir Stewart
I think his kid was saying "Hank Aaron is one away from tying your record."
tongue-tied lightning
so, with the Yanks now only 5 out, will the Sox hold on ? Yanks schedule has been nice & easy.
Lammycat
I guess Barry Zito driving in his first run as a major leaguer last night will be forever buried in this whole thing.

MrRain422
I've seen it referenced in two other places now that Bonds didn't hug his son. So maybe I imagined it or something? I feel crazy.
caliber66
I don't think Barry hugged back while the kid was hugging him. He was pointing up at the sky. edit: I do think it was miscommunication, though.

Big Perm
756 means nothing to me as well, and I'm a huge Seands fan.
quarter23cd
Much as I can't stand the guy or the thought that he now is the sole owner of the most prestigious record in the game, I kind of wish I had seen this. Oh well, such are the dangers of completely tuning out after the all star break. My team's season bit the dust so long ago I can't believe it isn't hockey season yet.
