PS If AROD showed up in a red sox uniform in Boston and he played like a champ, then he would be welcomed by the fans. Maybe not every single fan, but certainly by this fan. I recognize his value, even in pinstripes.

I can't really pinpoint the motive - I don't think any Yankees were hit. I know Lowell has made some comments about the Yankees in the past. Plus, didn't he have some real hard slide against Jeter last series? I'm just guessing. It really looked intentional. Joba has too good of control to miss like that twice in a row.

wait, so how the red sox play baseball is just like the yankees play baseball now? I thought you said that the team itself is just like the yankees? good teams play good baseball as often as they can. I would imagine that most teams would want to aspire to playing good ball and winning regardless of whether they are the Yankees or the RS or the Brewers. The differences between the sox and the yankees are many. the sox rely more on farm teams than the yankees do. the corporate culture between the two teams couldn't possibly be more different (not saying one is better than the other, just different.) the Ownership/management of the teams is incredibly different--John Henry et al vs Steinbrenner. Terry Francona vs Joe Torre? are you saying they are the same dude? Do you really believe that? I just find it hard that you, who probably knows more about baseball than anyone I know would say such a ridiculous thing.Just because of all the baseball teams in the MLB, the Yankees and the Red Sox clearly garner the most support and/or disdain across the country, does not by any stretch of the imagination make them THE SAME. Do i have a bias? Sure. But do i recognize that each team has strengths and weaknesses the other does not? Yes, absolutely.

Huh? I mean they run their organization in a very similar way, throwing money at whatever free agent comes along, driving players out of the price ranges of smaller markets just to make the other team have to pay more. They actually have very similar personnel on the field, high OBP guys, the only difference is the Red Sox have had a bit more luck in their recent signings of pitchers. I would argue the Yankees have actually built up a much stronger farm team than the Red Sox, and it's probably not even close.

It's not a ridiculous thing to say that they are extremely similar. They both outspend every other team in the league, and many times they drive free agents out of other team's ranges. They have unlimited resources, and they make use of them, good for them, I'm not criticizing, just saying they are exactly the same in that sense.

People paint Steinbrenner as this evil guy, but it could be argued Henry has a lot to do with the problems the Marlins are facing with their current owner, and it could also be said he had a lot to do with the Expos being contracted, since he sold the Marlins to Loria, who sold the Expos to the league, so that Henry could buy the Red Sox. There are many Marlins fans who do not like Henry at all, he had a hand in fucking up the stadium situation, and he gave us our awful current owner. As for Torre and Francona, managers have very little impact on the outcome of games, but they aren't dissimilar managers. Their job is to massage egos. Thats it.

I'd say the teams have more in common than they have differences. Maybe historically they have been different, but for the last decade, they essentially been 2 sides of the same coin. I'm not criticizing either for the way they run their franchises, it's smart business to use your resources to their full potential, but don't try to pretend they are different.

I don't know if anyone is watching this live, but Joba Chamberlain was throwing at Mike Lowell's head and got ejected. Two pitches in a row - it looked intentional to me and I'm a Yankees fan.

Joba's becoming one of my favorite players in the league. That guy can straight deal. Not sure I like him throwing at a former Marlin though...

you should just come out and say you don't care about competitive baseball and be done with it. All I'm hearing is sour grapes.

oh and nice work with getting sir stewart's head to explode. you're going to have to pay for that you know.

why, did any Yanks get hit today ?

I would assume it's because he broke up the no-no.

Seriously? I've never heard that excuse for headhunting given before. And it was Wang's no-hitter -- wasn't it the reliever throwing at him?
