dbt
I'm sitting around watching the Nationwide tour on the Golf Channel and as they're showing all of the day's scores, 'Leave Me (Like You Found Me)' is playing in the background. Pretty cool.
napoleon
you know, i had no problem with the commercials. but the fact wilco is on the golf channel depresses me.
welch79
awright...picture it like this: you're some sap that works for the editing firm that puts together programming montages for said golf channel. now, you are a sap, but you not as much as a sap because you really dig wilco and you want to put one of their songs into some of your work, so you do. now, some other sap watches said golf channel and witnesses this and thinks that wilco is in it's decadence b/c their music is heard in an unknown/"unworthy" context (the golf channel). when really that has happened is some fan is showing his appreciation for wilco. that's how i see it anyway. ction
I once heard Fugazi's "Suggestion" as bumper music on a sports talk radio show. I'm sure some engineer was a fan of the band, but I can't imagine Ian MacKaye would have been very happy about the context.
cryptique
The song title "Leave Me (Like You Found Me)" is appropriate for the golf channel. You're not supposed to improve your lie...

keylime
I figure I'll mention a random spotting here.... Once I had some sports network on and they were doing a profile on a basketball player or a team, I don't remember, and they were playing Kingpin in the background...the instrumental part was repeated over and over, and the only lyrics that were played were "How can I give my love to you when I don't know what to do..." I was so confused.
cryptique
You said that before.
viatroy
Box Full of Letters is the music to some segment on NPR where they read listeners' letters. And maybe my favorite Wilco video.
Sir Stewart
When I put on YHF the other day, about fifteen minutes in they played "War on War." I was like "Wow, Wilco."
Beltmann
When I put on YHF the other day, about fifteen minutes in they played "War on War." I was like "Wow, Wilco." Over the weekend I caught of few minutes of Mumford on TV, and heard "Hoodoo Voodoo" in the background of a scene with Jason Lee. I had forgotten about that one. I just happen to be the 'sap' that heard the song and I'd like to make one thing clear. I was thrilled to hear the song. I'm thrilled to hear their songs on VW commercials. In no way did I imply that I thought the band was in 'decadence' because I heard a song on the golf channel. In fact, I think I wrote that it was 'pretty cool'.
