Camel needs new smokers...

Recommended Posts

I just picked up my mail and found a big old box from Camel, with a slick CD box that looks like a wallet that you open up and it has a CD in it that looks like it is sitting on a turntable (mixed metaphor much) and sure enough it is a comp of indie bands they are pushing through something called the Farm (free range music), with a slick booklet.

Here is the line-up:

The Silos

Bayside

Peel

The Clutters

Gore Gore Girls

Bound Stems

Dirty on Purpose

Miss Derringer

The Saturday Knights

The Tossers

The Architects

Just as most clubs are becoming non-smoking, I guess Camel has to find a new avenue to catch new smokers. Interesting. At least I have heard of a few of these bands....

cold cocked in the mail with free cigarettes.......WOW (or....at least coupons)

-Robert.

Upon looking at the packaging after you said this, I didn't get any coupons or butts, but I did realize this wasn't for me, but addressed to my daughter Rosie (formerly Tweedy's Gurl). Guess I simply ain't in the right demographic anymore....

I'm sure she just did it so she could give them to a friend...

Oh? Is there something you'd like to tell us, Sam?

Ha! I'm also the one who signs up to give them to friends, but only with counseling that I don't agree with them. I'd rather they get their slow death for free than pay for it. :ohwell

I bought a pack of American Spirit cigarettes last week. I have smoked precisely three.

According to the one Bodies exhibit, you lose 2 hours and 20 minutes of your life with every pack you smoke.

So you can fit 2.5 listens of Sky Blue Sky in each pack of cigarettes you smoke...

Inneresting. How much time do you lose eating fast food? Living in New Jersey? Worrying about how much life you're losing?

:lol

i've noticed that. the brand is hard to find down here, but if i see them i grab them. i'd go outside with my friend for a smoke and she'll finish in 6 minutes when i'm 3/4 through. she'll say i'm really slow and i'll tell her that 'i dont suck as much as she does'
