Terrific show. I haven't seen the whole gang in over 2 years, and they were fantastic. Lots of YHF tonight, including IATTBYH, Radio Cure, Pot Kettle Black, Jesus, War, ITMWLY, and HMD. The new stuff sounds great. I was thrilled to hear On and On and On; my favorite of the last three albums. Fillmore was a nice venue. Crowd seemed pretty into it from where I was. 13 minute version of Spiders was cool. I'd forgotten how good that could be live. Biggest surprise was Too Far Apart. Guys looked like they were having fun with that one.

Can't wait for tomorrow night!

There was one other taper in addition to me at tonights show, though I dont think he's taping tomorrow. There were a few obnoxious folks near me, but they werent consistently obnoxious, so from what I can tell the recording sounds good.

Just a few brief comments about the show tonight:

-Not sure of the significance, if any, but for the first time that I heard on this tour, IATTBYH was played the "traditional" (album) way, with the electronic "noise" intro. At the other shows I've seen on this leg, the song just started with Jeff quietly strumming on his acoustic and no electro-effects whatsoever.

-On and On and On really is turning into a terrific live number. I know more than a few people, myself included, were a little skeptical of the song in its early incarnation(s), but I really love the arrangement the band is using now and Jeff is really singing it with a lot of passion.

-Nels' solo on Impossible Germany (and the whole performance of the song, really) was, I think, maybe the best I've seen since some of the European club shows just after SBS was released. I'm sure that, with each passing day, Nels must be feeling a little bit better after that nasty bout with the pox. The past few shows, in particular, he's seemed a lot more like himself again. Hooray!

I am new to this board, I couldn't make it tonight and I had how to fight loneliness in my head all day long.

Well, I hope tommorow is even better but I sure am reeling from missing the show tonight, especially spiders. Thanks for the setlist.

It has been over two years for me too, since Red Rocks, and I am really looking forward to see them play the Fillmore.

I obviously didn't go to this show because I'm in Pennsylvania. But my exgirlfriend moved out to Breckenridge, CO this summer and we're best friends. I was supposed to fly out and go to the show with her, but I couldn't. Anyway, so she had to go by herself, she bought tickets for both nights and didn't get a hotel room. So where did she end up sleeping? Um, in Wilco's fucking equipment truck! I'm ridiculously jealous, was able to go backstage last night and she is going backstage tonight as well. That girl has some crazy luck at shows.

Pics?

The only pic she has sent me so far is of the cab of the truck where she slept last night taken from her cellphone camera. She'll be getting pictures with her digi tonight I think. If she sends me any pics I'll be sure to upload them.

I don't know if I expected to not like it, I hate the Fillmore and their $10 for a can of beer attitude, but I didn't care for that show. I hate to admit it but I'm done with Wilco shows unless the personnel changes, I'm starting to think Glenn and Nels are a freakin' cliche. The setlist had too much YHF material for my liking, I'm sure I'm in the minority but of all their albums I like that one the least. I don't know if it's backlash for being panned because SBS is mellow but they way they end every YHF tune in a big cacaphonous crash made it seem like they had a chip on their shoulders to prove they are experimetal geniuses, that and the SBS stuff makes the YHF material sound tired and archaic. Anyway back to Glenn and Nels, when Glenn is just left to drumming instead of beating on crickets and tiles, which I hate, I'm not all that impressed. It doesnt' seem like he can 'drive' the songs. Nels is a great player but I still think he sounds stiff when he isn't doing freakout crap, his rhythm playing just isn't there, I'm over hearing guitarists make squeaks and squawks instead of just playing tasty lines and his tone is shrill. For what ever reason I have never given much attention to Pat Sansone but he's a great guitarist, his tone was killer and his fills were stunning. I couldn't tell for sure but I think he is using a Badcat amp and his Tele's sound awesome through that thing. Anyway compared to what I've seen from Wilco in years past specifically 97-02 this show didn't keep my attention, I left at the start of the second encore, a first for me to walk out on Wilco.

last night looked amazing! Hate that I missed it.

I will be at tonight's show and am so anxious. Haven't seen Wilco in over two years.

And "honestgabe"... how funny about your ex-girlfriend. I live in Breckenridge and have been trying to find someone to go to Wilco with me! My usual Wilco show partner is out of town right now. If only I had gotten on this board sooner...

Not the "Jay Bennett is God, Fuck Wilco" post I was looking forward to.
