I swear Jeff wrote that one for me...

That one about the dude who spends 12 hours a day at his computer doing graphic design and hasn't been on a date or had sex in four and a half years is so much like my life that it's downright eerie.

I'm sorry... that's hilarious.

"I Am Trying To Break Your Heart" and "The Thanks I Get".

It might be kind of cliche but god damn is it fitting. This is my first post/reply on the forum. Nice to meet you all.

honorable mention goes to: "Walken", "At Least That's What You Said", and "Ashes Of American Flags"

Carla Bozulich once remarked that she loves Wilco because "you can pretend the songs are about you." With perfect comic timing, a guy in the audience replied, "Why is Jeff Tweedy so mad at me?"

that's good stuff. she's kind of right in a sense.

i can't say that i think any songs seem like jeff wrote them for me, but i've always felt like if i were ever to sit down and write a song i'd be fucked because jeff already said pretty much exactly what i'd say with "misunderstood".

especially the "when you're back in your old neighborhood, the cigarettes taste so good" and "i'd like to thank you all for nothing" parts...

Wow, um... this is really hard for me because sometimes I feel like I understand things Jeff Tweedy says in a way that only a small portion of like minded people would understand, however this is more than likely pleasant self deception. Due to all of this I assign my own meanings to songs that are somewhat hard for most people to decipher and wind up having a passion for almost all the songs.

But there are some songs that make me think Jeff Tweedy has been inside my mind, mostly because he sings songs which outline my faults to a tee. Namely "She's a Jar."
