OOO
Oh blast I drank the wrong draft downtwo sips from your crown, the drops you left for me, am I so easily appeased?Madrigal, why didn't you come out today, you promised to play. Marigold, why didn't you come out today,we promised to play fair. You were already there. You were ready to cast our fate to the wind,to try your hand at everything, what a cinch it would have been had we been there. Those trials are held for tuningin and smiles are stretched to be shown, so when you claim to see for miles it's not but I believe it's true. Yes, trials are held for tuning in, and smiles are stretched to be worn,so when you claim to see for miles you don't but I believe you do. On this day that began as execution day, and sure enough became execution day.On this day that began as execution day,and true to form became execution day.On this day that began as execution day, and sure enough became execution day.On this day that began as execution day,and true to form became execution day. lizish
The Acorn - Oh Napoleon Talk about your peace of mindThe one I found so hard to findMosquito stuck in amber mineDon't want my body trapped in time As I wait for skies to clearDon't seem to mind if I shed a tearFrom time to time I'm swallowed wholeAnd in a wink spat on the floor Will I follow you home again? How's it feel to disappearLike seriously disappearAnd take a stab from papa's spearGetting drunk on rotten air Bite my tongueI taste your bloodNever thought of thatI could bite hard enoughEyes of fire in your skullYou've got the kind of eyes that burn gooseflesh off Oh your charm is getting oldThis kind of love ain't bought or soldI know you tried if truth be toldBut I still cast you to a bed of coal Will I follow you home againBite my tongueI taste your bloodNever thought tat I could bite hard enough
embiggen
I've been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand,Could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of a normal man? These sensations barely interest me for another day,I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, take the shock away. It's getting faster, moving faster now, it's getting out of hand,On the tenth floor, down the back stairs, its a no man's land,Lights are flashing, cars are crashing, getting frequent now,I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, let it out somehow. What means to you, what means to me, and we will meet again,I'm watching you, I'm watching her, I'll take no pity from you friends,Who is right, who can tell, and who gives a damn right now,Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling,I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling,Feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling. Oil Can Boyd
Please, remember me, happily, by the rosebush laughing with bruises on my chin, the time when we counted every black car passing your house beneath the hill, and up until someone caught us in the kitchen with maps, a mountain range, a piggy bank a vision too removed to mention But please remember me, fondly, i heard from someone you're still pretty and then they went on to say that the Pearly Gates have such eloquent graffiti like:

lizish
yeah, hate when that we assume everyone knows every lyric to every pop song. Weakerthans - Sun in an empty room Now that the furniture's returning to its Goodwill homeWith dishes and last week's paper, rumours and elections, crosswords on unending warThe black in our fingers smear their prints on every door pulled shut Now that the last month rent is scheming with the damage deposit Take this moment to decideSun in an empty roomIf we meant it, if we triedSun in an empty roomOr felt around for far too muchSun in an empty roomFrom things that accidentally touchSun in an empty room Hands that we nearly hold with pennies for the GST Shoulder we lean our shoulders into on the subway, mutter an apologyThe shins that we kick beneath the table, that reflexive cry The faces we meet, one awkward beat, too long and terrified Know the things we need to say Sun in an empty roomAnd said already anywaySun in an empty roomBy parallelograms of light Sun in an empty roomOn walls we repainted whiteSun in an empty room Sun in an empty roomSun in an empty room Sun in an empty roomSun in an empty room Sun in an empty roomSun in an empty room Sun in an empty roomSun in an empty room Take eight minutes and divide Sun in an empty roomBy ninety million lonely milesSun in an empty roomWatch a shadow cross the floorSun in an empty roomWe don't live here anymoreSun in an empty room

mgsooner
"One of These Days"Drive-by TruckersPizza Deliverance If I had a dime for every time I heard my old man sayone of these daysI wouldn't be like my old man todaytalking bout places that he'd beenback in his younger days that he was gonna go back to againone of these days Dropped out of school when he was just sixteenfell right into a tire plantbuilding the very things that make the asphalt singand put Alabama far behind you I remember him saying that Chicago was a hell right here on earthand twenty five years later I was saying the same thing about Memphis It's no wonder everybody's scared of downtown Birminghamit's just a little too close to homeBut there's more crooks down here and the cops don't care, while old white men wearing ties can do anything they want. Once a country boy's seen the way the steam risesoff a man's insides on the sidewalkTends to change the way he thinks, the way he sees everythingand he goes back to where he came from One of these days when my face looks like a roadmap gonna find my way back home. And i'll go walking on the west side after dark and leave my gun locked in my car.One of these days you'll take one look at me and run. One of these days you'll takeone look at me and run.

lizish
The Barmitzvah Brothers are coming to the Sault are they worth seeing as well? I think it depends on how much female fronted indie pop you like. For me, they are really on that border between irascibly cuteand sort of irritating. For instance they all wear City of Guelph work shirts and seem to play instruments found on garbage days or in attics. Don't want to give you a bad impression though. Their concerts have been a lot of fun.
Oil Can Boyd
All My Little WordsMagnetic Fields You are a splendid butterfly It is your wings that make you beautiful and I could make you fly away but I could never make you stay You said you were in love with me Both of us know that that's impossible and I could make you rue the day but I could never make you stay Not for all the tea in China not if I could sing like a bird not for all North Carolina not for all my little words not if I could write for you the sweetest song you ever heard It doesn't matter what I do not for all my little words. Now that you've made me want to die you tell me that you're unboyfriendable and I could make you pay and pay but I could never make you stay

Jesusetc84
All My Little WordsMagnetic Fields That song reminds me of like...a whole 6 months of my life. Great song. Another great song... Looking at your watch a third time waiting in the station for a busGoing to a place that's far, so far away and if that's not enoughGoing where nobody says hello, they don't talk to anybody they don't knowYou'll wind up in some factory that's full time filth and nowhere left to goWalk home to an empty house, sit around all by yourselfI know it might sound strange, but I believeYou'll be coming back before too long Don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to RockvilleAnd waste another year At night I drink myself to sleep and pretendI don't care if you're not here with me'Cause it's so much easier to handleAll my problems if I'm too far out to seaBut something better happen soonOr it's gonna be too late to bring you back Don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to RockvilleAnd waste another year It's not as though I really need youIf you were here I'd only bleed youBut everybody else in town only wants to bring you down andThat's not how it ought to beI know it might sound strange, but I believeYou'll be coming back before too long Don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to RockvilleAnd waste another year
