Analogman
I think a few more bands did it in the past, but for now. The Bob Schneider Band has the show recorded sbd and for sale afterwards. I think that is BS but I've gotten a few for free, so what ever. Anyways those exact same shows are available the next day on The Llama for free. That's a little f'd up! On a related note, The Allman Brothers do not allow online trading - but allow taping/trading through the mail. That is why you don't find any AUD tapes of the band on BT sites. roby
If they will do as Pearl Jam are doing (every night a perfect recorded 2CD set) I'll go to sleep under a bridge..but with my cd player, an amplifier and a pair of loudspeakers!!!!! Surely I NEED A LIVE DVD FROM THIS TOUR, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!....please, Tweeeedy.
aarong
A live DVD would be great and maybe another live album afte rthey release another album or two. I would prefer they do an album of collected b-sides and compilation tracks first though.

It gave it a unknown sense of wonder! I remember having a giant camping bag full of live shows and would fish through it like"I wonder what I'll get next!" I miss that feel good feeling. Edit:But do they allow SBD's?

Edit:But do they allow SBD's?What is the taping policy at shows? I am going to go to the hometown Tucson show on 9/17 - do I need a lawn ticket for taping or can I tape from the seating in the pavilion? Is there a taper's section? T The ABB support and encourage audio taping as long as it's ok with the venue. There isn't a taper's section, or taper's tix - record from your seat, being respectful of the person next to you. (but no electronic transfers/trading) I doubt they do - as that would defeat the purpose of the Live Nation-Instant Live deal.
oceanman
I guess they do own the mixing vans, oh well. I'm done
redstripe
phish began to stop patches in 1990 when a fan accidentally unplugged the PA, by 1991 it was finnished. sbds were seeded to tape trees, and other 'leaked' out. by 98 sbds were virtually non-existant. http://www.freedumb.net/sbd/sbdlist.html" complete list of pre-hiatus sbds. wilco doesnt need to allow patches if they seed sbds on etree, or upload them to the archive, and as long as they allow fans to make and distribute their own matrix mixes. ZenLunatic
Thanks,I have it,but didn't buy it. Gave the Cd w/ Comment a play once! I just see where this digital world is going. You trade a show than stick it in your iTunes and just broke the golden rule of trading. If you have the show in wav in a case, then fine. But going to a friends house and taking all of his mp3 shows and trading those around is the devils work. It's way to hard to stop this from happening.Did Wilco get paid for releasing KT? And Yes............the.............VIBES Oceanman, why do you have so much hatred towards these things? First off, iTunes sucks, anyone using it just doesnt know what they are doing. Who cares if people trade mp3s, if they like mp3s, then let them. Mp3s have their place, why stop it? I use mp3s in my iPod but perserve lossless in my cds and HDD. If you dont want mp3s at all, just dont use it yourself. Let others do what they want. Music is music. More it spreads the better. I am all for high quality music, I am for pushing SACD and DVD-A, but I think mp3s have their place for now.

Analogman
gotcha, i didn't mind it, but some people found it overly amusing i thought. It's an old joke around here - indie rock fans vs. jam bands fans - or something like that.
ction
It was pretty funny. And I don't usually go out of my way to praise A-man (because he hates me with the fire of a billion suns, and that hurts me).

yankee
I know Wilco typically allows people to record their shows, but would most fans be in favor of them releasing live albums often and in high quality like a lot of touring bands do ? I would love to have this option personally. Is anyone aware if this has ever been addressed ? kicking television rocks. i'd love another live double cd.
TW Walsh
i really like live DVDs and CDs, but only if the audio quality is really good. that's why i prefer mastered live CDs. but i don't think kicking TV sounds that good. i think it could have been recorded and mixed better. i LOVE the live in the studio DVD that came with SBS. i'd love to see more of that. i wish there was a CD of that too. i think there are aspects of it that sound better than the actual record. Guest Alan
it's kind of shitty that the DVD didn't come with the vinyl. i have no use for the CD and i wasn't going to buy that just to get the DVD.
