Cubs fans have been pretty sparse in this thread as of late.

It's interesting (and sad if you are a cubs fan) that the two teams in the NLCS are the latest entrants to the league -- and one of them has already won a world series.

what i think is sad is that those two NL teams have easily the ugliest and worst logos/uniforms in the entire league, with the other expansion teams running right behind (marlins and debilrays) Honestly, it seems to me that the commissioner of baseball should institute some standards on those shitty logos.

And what the hell is a "Rockie?" Why couldn't they have picked an animal or something menacing? What the hell is the mascot for a mountain range? I mean, it sounds good Colorado Rockies, but it doesn't MEAN anything.

Of course why name a team after hosery but that's a name done for a hunnnerd years so there's not a lot to be done about that. What is wrong with the classics, i ask you?

Have you ever seen the the mountain range that is the Rockies in person?. Menacing, they are.

I kind of like the purple/black/silver combo. The sleeveless shirts need to go, though.

Those new Tampa unis are nice - a great improvement over the current ones. Arizona's new togs are an even greater improvement over the purple ones. Still think D-Backs is a dumb name; they should have paid whoever need to be paid to use the old USFL name Rattlers. The one thing I don't EVER want to see in baseball is singular team names, like Wild, Heat and Jazz.

agreed. i was thinking the same thing--how much i hate the name "Utah Jazz" I mean, wtf does that even MEAN? How can you be proud of a JAZZ?

i don't have a beef with Diamondbacks. It is a kind of snake, the logo isn't terrible but the font lettering sucks. And what is it about the shortening of names D-Backs? D-Rays? Why is it that these stupid expansion teams are the ones with the dumb names? I mean, no one calls the Giants the G-Ants (although that would be kind of funny) or the WhySox (oh, also funny) or the CRockies (eh. less funny but still makes my point.) I think if we're going to start with the shortening of team names, i want Toronto to be referred to as the BJays.

Heh. Around here, Giants is often shortened to Jints by headline writers.

And, you can bring a monkey to the game? Far out.

I noted that, smartypants. But i said that after 100 years it would be a little hard to change the name NOW.

what is there to say really? it sucks and I hate it very much. I especially hate it for my husband because he's the bigger fan. Cubbies just dropped the fucking ball in the playoffs. you would think that a win like theirs last Friday would have brought some momentum to the team. it just sucks majorly.
