Eli Cash
There are many that I thought were good to very good: Menomena (#85), The Clientele (#57), Justice (#46), Spoon (#29), LCD Soundsystem (#22), Radiohead (#11), Wilco (#7) Sound of Silver is in my top 5 of the decade. All My Friends is my top song of the year.
SarahC
I just don't "get" that LCD Soundsystem record...
Eli Cash
I wouldn't expect the grinch to "get" it.
trevor
about half of Sound of Silver is mindblowingly good. The other half is merely good. I think it might finish in my top 5 this year, but...it's a huge improvement over the last disc, and if that trend continues, the next album could almost cause the apocalypse. Almost. Sir Stewart
I finally made it through that "New York, I love you but..." song - and it was surprisingly worth it.

Someone Great->All My Friends is the best 1-2 punch on ANY record this year. as great as AMF is, Someone Great is my jam of '07 (well from that album anyway) HUGE huge improvement over the S/T, which was just ok but very scattered. plus the best songs were on the bonus disc. I finally made it through that "New York, I love you but..." song - and it was surprisingly worth it.great song. i think Never as Tired as When I'm Waking Up from the first might be better in terms of LCD's "slo-jams" tho
rwrkb
"North American Scum" is still my favorite track on that album

truetolife
Here's a list of what I've listened to this year, I still need to move a few things around though... http://rateyourmusic.com/list/drpyurz49/2007_albums
GtrPlyr
No Rickie Lee Jones or Levon Helm? And why the hell is that awful Prince disc on there?I haven't heard the Levon record yet, but the Rickie Lee disc is definitely top 10 all the way. Not sure how they could have missed that one. trevor
that amazon list is retarded. BRITNEY SPEARS? the fact she made that list automatically voids it of any plausibility, but then to see her halfway thru the list above the likes of modest mouse, okkervil river, sigur ros, josh ritter...blah. PigSooie
I didn't think I would see The National that low on any list. It's probably in the top ten on the R&B charts.

DAngerer09
Man, I have 55 of Paste's top 100 in my iTunes. And, if anyone read the actual article in Paste, they refer to Nels Cline, as "The King of All Things Stringed" in the little blurb about the Eleni Mandell record (I didn't know he played on that album). I found that nickname amusing. Also, I was surprised at the high ranking for the Derek Webb album. Has anyone heard it? I want to buy it, but none of my local record shops have it. Maybe I'll cave to iTunes...

DAngerer09
you probably have it because he gives away all his albums for free, usually through his website. but i don't think he did that with the new one.

I prefer the Paste list to the Harp list.me too. Harp's is kinda crap. that new BoH is good, but hardly top 10 of the year material, especially when compared to the last album.
