I can't afford this right now...Christmas shopping has decimated my bank account. :ohwell Good luck to everybody buying tickets!

Your not the only one in this spot. I don't understand why bands give dates and put them on sale the same week. If the show is going to sell out its going to sell out. Giving people the time to save money doesn't hurt anyone.

This is a tough time of the year for most people to be forking out money. Thanks to my heat bill I never have extra cash lying around this time of the year.

AAARRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!

First Wilco pull the UK shows, then they do this.

Absolutely gutted that I can't see this - so many great tunes that rarely get an airing, (though I don't complain because this line up just plays the heck out of all the tunes they do play at the moment, and in the UK shows I saw earlier this year, there wasn't one song you'd have dropped) so I can already sense this is gonna be for the ages.

I only hope that, despite the reluctance to release a Wilco live DVD so far, these shows are captured and each different song played is included in a dvd package. That would be awesome, nay, compulsory. The petition starts here...............

Green Mill is nice. Very classic Jazz place. Broadway is starting to get some business to it if you havent been there in a year or so. Just need that Theater to open up and some more restuarants and bars. I can see that area coming. The crowd is very mixed according to what may be playing at Aragon or Riv.

I'm just sorry the closed the Lake View lounge. It was my favorite dive bar, where the band behind the bar used to announce, "welcome to the Lake View Lounge, were there ain't no lake, and there ain't no view." The three scruffy old guys in the band would then bust into some Elvis and Johny Cash covers and rock the place until around 4 a.m. The place always started out with old neighborhood bar fly types early in the evening, then gradually got taken over by young artist types as the night wore on. Kind of like Wicker Park before the yuppies took over.

The closest thing left in town that I know of is Carol's up on Clark, where you can two step it with a live honky tonk band until shortly before dawn.

Should we be more trustworthy then?

They have a live band in there? Cover?

Yep, classic country covers. Johnny, Willie, Dolly, Merle, Waylon, etc.

I'd suggest it for post-Wilco festivities, but it gets pretty crowded on weekend nights. Fat Cat is just up the street from the Riv and might be a better (certainly newer and cleaner) option.

Between the winter residency, new tour dates, and Jeff's solo benefit show, I'm completely overwhelmed. Too much at once. Can't decide what to do. Probably won't do a damn thing at this point. :upset

haha... you gotta do something.

I have tickets to go to the Benefit show cause I really like Jeff solo acoustic. And I plan to go to just the saturday show cause I work all other days and would be too much to try to make the show in time. That should be enough for me.

Tank Noodle!! Love love LOVE that place! :thumbup

What about Honkee Resturant! never been in but like the name.

That Vientnam strip is the place for PHO lovers.

There is actually a great new sushi restuarant by the Borders. I forget the name, but great for people who like sushi. Then you also have the late night authentic mexican restuarants for you all burito lovers.

Haha, never seen Honkee, where's that? I know I should branch out but I always end up at Tank or Sun-Wah. In fact I've eaten at both multiple times in the last week. It's just so good...

Honkee is on the north side of the street closer to the train station. I walk past it all the time going to the train. I always make a comment when walking with my white friends.

Are you familiar with the street mc on the corner. The guy with the mic?

No, the only street mc who comes to mind is the evangelical one by the State St Old Navy. Is this east or west of the Argyle station?
