ikol
no shit - he lost me on the torture issue. I used to have some respect for him.....but now? no f'in way. When did he flip flop on that? I've only seen him speak against torture (specifically waterboarding) in the Republican debates.
IRememberDBoon
Congratulations Hillary! Great win and here's to a battle royal. May the best person win As long as its Obama Clinton or Edwards Im happy. I'll never understand the negativity towards Hillary from the "progressives" but I never understood how John Kerry lost so what the hell do I know? Again GREAT win!
Reni
When did he flip flop on that? I've only seen him speak against torture (specifically waterboarding) in the Republican debates. Remember that little bill that suspended habeaus corpus and gave the power to the executive branch to define what constitutes torture. We all know Bush and Co. do not define waterboarding as torture......so, to have supported that bill was basically letting the torturer decide what is torture. McCain had stood strong in that debate for some time, if I recall correctly, but folded in the end and supported the bill. Shame on him. I don't have time to pull up details, as I am on my way out the door.
jff
I have to weigh in one last time and then I'm out of here... I can not believe than anyone who has heard Thompson speak and seen any of his campaigning actually thinks that he is a qualified candidate. Dottering fool is all I can think of when I see him speak. He makes Romney and Giuliani look competent. He would easily be the worst candidate republicans could put on the ballot except for one thing and one thing only...uninformed voters would vote for him because they would only think of his TV persona and that would be enough for them, that and those who will vote for any candidate with an R next to their name regardless of their qualifications. I agree 100%.

I love how the regular consortium of politicized-actor bashers within the right wing is completely silent when a republican actor not only voices their opinion, but actually runs for office. cryptique
Well, he was a lawyer and Senator first. He was a lawyer and lobbyist first. He was a senator only after he'd been an actor for several years.
Reni
well, he's not very good at much of anything he does. He adds pure comedy gold to the debates though.....I love how he answers questions......he's kind of like, "yeah, whatever." That's his schtick apparently

Sir Stewart
When Obama won Iowa, it was a shocking victory. When Obama lost NH, it was a devastating defeat. I'm already sick of the pundits.

I love it.Did any democratic pundits actually say that the tears showed weakness? That seems like something that a Republican would say I've yet to watch the video, but the NYT account made it seem genuine and human.

IRememberDBoon
Dems better watch out for McCain. Hes the only R on planet earth that has a bats chance in hell. like Thompson simply for his stance on the issues, which really should be what we are voting on. Not his appearance. You want to vote on best hair-do, American Idol is coming back soon enough. thanks for the insight. youre still a republican after the last 8 years???!! WHY?
