Any chance of a YSI comp mix, yes? don't know if i can. their last two albums only came out on the new clock-work radio format, so it would take ages to convert them. they sold well in africa, though. cryptique
We're talking "favorites" rather than what I think are the ten best records, so here's that list as it stands today (tomorrow it would be different): alphabetical order (I couldn't rank these if I tried)... Centro-matic - Fort RecoveryThe Clash - London CallingTed Leo/Pharmacists - The Tyranny of DistanceThe Posies - Frosting on the BeaterSand Rubies - s/tSpoon - A Series of SneaksBruce Springsteen - Born to RunStiff Little Fingers - Go For ItWhiskeytown - Strangers AlmanacWilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot When I made my first cut for this list, there were 42 albums on it. Somnambulist
as far as Teenage Fanclub goes, I would have to put Grand Prix!! I love the whole Teenage Fanclub catalog but for some reason I find myself going back to Songs From Northern Britain more and more. Maybe I've mellowed out as I've aged and that might be their "mellow" record. 13 is way up there for me too. I listened to that album to death when it came out. It just needs to be remastered. Three dollars and 63 cents
U2--Achtung BabyWilco--Yankee Hotel FoxtrotLucinda Williams--Car Wheels On A Gravel RoadPixies--Come On PilgrimBob Dylan--Blood On the TracksRolling Stones--Exile On Main StreetMiles Davis--Kind of BlueGrateful Dead--American BeautySoul Coughing--Ruby VroomWillie Nelson--Willie Nelson's Greatest Hits (And Some That Will Be) I could easily replace Blood On the Tracks with Highway 61 Revisited and American Beauty with Workingman's Dead. It seems sort of weird to have a greatest hits album on my list, but my family played that album so much when I was growing up. My first memory actually involves a Willie Nelson song, in fact. I think before too much longer I'll probably be putting a Nels Cline Singers album in my top ten, probably either The Giant Pin or Instrumentals. These are all old favorites, though.
