brianjeremy
They're playing my town in November, but tickets seemed too high. I think they've even reduced them from what they were. Now they're $25-$35. Doesn't seem worth it to me but my brother is bugging me to go. I'll wait until they make some sort of deal for teachers. They did that last year when Morrissey played, which was cool.
Sly like a Foxwell
Now they're $25-$35.  well worth every penny, IMHO
Three dollars and 63 cents
I just realized that the theater where they played last fall still had its 2007-2008 schedule posted. No wonder I couldn't find any information about ticket sales  But Pollstar is still showing a date for this November...weird.
Elixir Sue
1st impressions on 2nd Gleam.... I gotta have more banjo. It's a nice EP with good songs that I need to spend more time with. I didn't feel the harmonies like I normally do with their stuff. I also could have went for at least one raucous song with some yelling.I think the point of the Gleam EPs is that they're quiet and acoustic...Bob's not even on them, is he? These guys are playing in my town in November. I'm thinking I should check them out, since we don't get too many good shows, especially once winter arrives.Do it!! They're playing my town in November, but tickets seemed too high. Wendy
I got WAAAAAAAY more than my $5 worth of entertainment when the 3-piece Avett Brothers played Fort Wayne a few years back. I'm a big fan and urge anyone who liked what they saw on those videos (especially the BlueRoom, fantastic!) to just ... go.
jenbobblehead
$7.50 per ticket is insane. I'd love to see the Avett Brothers in Milwaukee in May, but as of right now I have a conflict. If I do get to go, I'll make sure to head to the venue for my tickets.Ok so now the charge is 8.50, plus 1.00 plus 2.50 to print at home. For a 24.00 ticket. I love the Avetts but i just cannot support ticketbastard.

LouisvilleGreg
They were playing the AB's the other night in Charlottesville before Springsteen took the stage. I have read in more than one place that he's a big fan. I think me and my friend might've been the only people in the arena who knew what was being played.

watch me fall
But Charlotte is the "hometown" show! And the first opportunity to buy the new album! Yeah but I'm not a huge fan or anything. Just want to see what the fuss is all about and seeing a show in that arena is definitely not worth it.
myboyblue
Yeah but I'm not a huge fan or anything. Just want to see what the fuss is all about and seeing a show in that arena is definitely not worth it.although I'm sure the show will be great, I think I'm with you on this. I'd prefer to see them, or any band, in a place where they aren't quite as popular. More intimate environment, less crowd equates to a better time for me. These guys feed off an audience so I'm sure they will be on top of things for the Charlotte crowd. You'll leave a fan wherever you happen to see them.

m_to_the_c
You're going to end up getting them all anyway, but:  EmotionalismGleam ICarolina JubileeGleam IIMignonette / Four Thieves Gone / Country Was Mignonette and Four Thieves Gone have a fair amount of road/studio chatter that might not suit someone just checking the band out, as well as Bob Crawford vocals that might be jarring to someone expecting 100% Avett magic. These elements even out after repeated listens (and you will repeat listens!!), but at first you might not have the patience.
