hardwood floor
and Robert Pollard (not all that good, frankly). standard gargoyle decisions + superman was a rocker are shit the takeovers + psycho and the birds records each have like 3 great songs and a ton of filler circus devils is unlistenable, other than the one or two token songs that sound like GBV coast to coast carpet of love starts out inspired and then just fizzles out pollard hasn't released a record that's up to his usual standards since From a Compound Eye unbelievable slump for the greatest songwriter who ever lived after 40 or whatever masterpieces in a row, from sandbox through FaCE, i wonder if he's capable of putting out a great record anymore

Blitzen Trapper are frickin' awesome in their own right, and fantastic/fun live.
Synthesizer Patel
what is the fleet foxes album actually called? is it ragged wood, fleet foxes, or (as i thought) netherlandish proverbs? anyone have any solid facts on this?
mjpuczko
who the fuck are fleet fox?
Synthesizer Patel
who the fuck are fleet fox? check out their myspace page: here and then listen to white winter hymnal and then and then you'll see that fleet foxes are the future. (well, not the future, but they're good - kind of old sounding actually.)
you ever seen a ghost?
Ragged Wood was a tentative album title. I think the Netherlandish Proverbs was from their MySpace page. I'm about 99 percent certain it will be self-titled though. that's what i've heard them say and that is how SubPop is listing it. -justin eta: now their myspace page has taken away the Netherlandish something or other and the cover and put up songs off the full-length as self-titled with a new cover. cool! >who the fuck are fleet fox? Fleet Foxes. http://www.myspace.com/fleetfoxes -justin

you ever seen a ghost?
not to argue, but i saw an interview where the guy from the band was talking about the leak and he said that it would not be called Ragged Wood (the way it leaked), but would probably be self-titled. since then, SubPop and their MySpace page are now listing it as self-titled. i've been planning to edit my Id3 tags... -justin
muller
i think all in the all, the band are pretty pissed about it leaking so early. thing is, the album had been doing the rounds at various labels for months and months before they got signed, so it was inevitable that is was gonna happen... it'll be interesting to see if it has a slightly different mix, when it finally comes out officially. mjpuczko
any idea if there's a website i can hear fleet fox? maybe like a social networking site? i'll check it later. can't get myspace at work
you ever seen a ghost?
i hate to keep arguing with you muller (you can call me an asshole if you want), but Robin Peckinpold (sp?) posted on a few blogs telling people to grab the album. he said they sent the tracks to SubPop via Sendspace so a leak was inevitable. SubPop is bound to be pissed though. I've seen links removed at their request. -justin (#1 Fleet Foxes Fan)

MrRain422
I saw them at Schuba's a few weeks ago and thought they were good, though they could have turned down the reverb on the vocals a lot. It would have helped.
