DVD

Oh, and a $25 gift card to a restaurant in Chicago, all because I knew that

Grateful Dead - "Box Of Rain"

was released in 1970.

It's not too hard to get through at 5:45 in the morning, you know. So, I'll see if my guys like it and, if not, I'll probably put it up on the trading block, although I might not.

I am totally interested in Warm Bodies.  Wondering what you think about it.

I used to win radio contests when I was a kid all the time.  Also in college I knew some of the DJs at the college station and I would end up being the "seventh" call a lot of the times they were on.

Just won a pretty nice prize pack this morning:

• Pair of passes to an advance screening of The Way Way Back

• Pair of passes to Milwaukee Summerfest

• An overnight stay at a waterpark hotel

All for knowing that "Tell Her No" by The Zombies came out in 1965.

Can you say twice in one day?

This evening, with the boys, listening to their top-40 station, I won a Justin Timberlake prize pack, including a DL of his new album, and qualified to be entered into a drawing for a pair of backstage passes at a JT show.

I need to buy a lottery ticket.

Just won a gift certificate that I can use at just about any place in the downtown of a nearby suburb.
(Elmhurst -- for those of you to whom it means anything.)
Wife and I go there fairly often, so it's a nice thing. Pay for a good chunk of a night out for us.

So, not exactly on the radio, but I did win a Califone poster and CD from the venue where they are playing (and I am going!) tonight, for propagating social media about the show on the facebook, which I am happy to do for Califone.

I never win anything!! This is like a major award in my world.  :banana

I won tix from the Loop 97.9FM for Judas Priest during their British Steel tour.

:rock  Did you go?  I saw them sometime in the 80's around screaming for vengeance.  To this day it is by far the loudest show I have endured.  When Halford would hit certain notes my ears would actually overload and clip like an amplifier.  Deaf for a week.  Even at the time as a teenager I thought some of the poses looked silly.  Like them holding up their guitars so the necks crossed and halford getting in the middle.  But I love the Priest.

Unfortunately, I did not go. I had no way to get the Int'l Ampitheatre. Still have the tix. I did see the Screaming for Vengeance tour ('81ish?). They played under the grandstands at the old Arlington Racetrack on Halloween night (IIRC). Definitely one of the most unusual venues I've seen a concert at. We climbed up the air ducts to get a better view. Ah ,the folly of youth. Judas Priest also holds my personal record for loudest concert. I saw them at Alpine on their Defenders tour and had roughly 15 row, center. At the end of that concert, I could no longer hear anything but sounds on the low end. People talking sounded like the parents and teachers on the Peanuts cartoons. On the ride home, I could only hear the bass line of tunes on the radio. I've recovered but yeah, I got some hearing damage. Freewheel burnin'!!
